    摘要: A thermal head including a substrate, a thermal element array including a plurality of thermal elements linearly disposed on the substrate, a plurality of driver ICs provided on the substrate and including a plurality of drive circuit elements for controlling the thermal elements through electric conduction in accordance with a print signal, two common electrode patterns provided on the substrate, a first wiring pattern provided on the substrate for connecting each one end of each adjacent pair of the thermal elements commonly to one of the drive circuit elements, second and third wiring patterns provided on the substrate for connecting the other ends of the thermal elements separately to two common electrodes, the plurality of driver ICs being disposed along the thermal element array, the two common electrodes being arranged on opposite sides of the thermal element array and output terminals of the driver ICs, one of the adjacent thermal elements being formed of a single thermal resistor while the other is formed of two thermal resistors.

    摘要: A thermal printing head includes an insulating substrate formed of a heat resisting cloth impregnated with a heat resisting resin. A plurality of heating elements of an electrically resistive material are linearly disposed on the substrate. A shield layer is interposed between the heating elements and the substrate for preventing the substrate from exerting chemical influence on the heating elements. A plurality of conduction controlling devices mounted on the substrate is included for controlling electric conduction of the heating elements corresponding to print data. A common electrode is formed on the substrate for commonly connecting an end of each of the heating elements. A discrete electrode is formed on the substrate for connecting the other end of each of the heating elements to the conduction controlling device. Finally, metal layer is interposed between the heating elements and the electrodes for connecting both of them in an ohmic contact.

    摘要: A display device is provided in which reduction of reflected light is realized. Also a multilayer substrate is provided in which light reflectance is reduced even when the substrate has a plurality of layers that differ in refractive index from each other. In the display device of one embodiment, the reflectance of light reflected by the internal structure, of light incident on the internal structure through a display screen, is less than 1.0%. The multilayer substrate of one embodiment includes a first layer and a second layer disposed adjacently to the first layer. The refractive index of the second layer varies continuously from an interface where the second layer is adjacent to the first layer in a direction from the first layer, with the variation being started at a value of the refractive index at the interface where the first layer is adjacent to the second layer.

    摘要: An antireflection film of the present invention includes a plurality of first raised portions, each of which has a two-dimensional size of not less than 1 μm and less than 100 μm when seen in a direction normal to the film, and a plurality of second raised portions, each of which has a two-dimensional size of not less than 10 nm and less than 500 nm when seen in a direction normal to the film. In at least one embodiment, the antireflection film has a first surface shape or a second surface shape that is inverse to the first surface shape relative to a film surface. In the first surface shape, the second raised portions are provided on the first raised portions and between the plurality of first raised portions, and the elevation angle α of a surface of the first raised portions relative to the film surface is about 90° or more. The antireflection film of the present invention has a more excellent antiglare function than conventional ones.

    摘要: An illuminator according to the present invention includes a backlight (110) for emitting light containing first and second polarization components having polarization directions which are orthogonal to each other; and a selective reflection polarizer (120) having a reflectance for the first polarization component which is higher than a transmittance for the first polarization component, and having a transmittance for the second polarization component which is higher than a reflectance for the second polarization component. The selective reflection polarizer (120) includes a transparent substrate (122) and a plurality of metal wires (124) arrayed on the transparent substrate (122). The ratio of a width of the metal wires (124) to a pitch of the metal wires (124) is greater than 30% and equal to or less than 42%, and the backlight (110) has a reflectance of 0.6 or more.
