    摘要: A marine propulsion unit having an engine (13) mounted with the output end directed toward the stern of a boat is disclosed in which a required inclination of propeller shaft (15) is provided outside a reversing clutch mechanism (17) by an intermediate shaft (32) and a pair of meshing bevel gears (38, 39) incorporated in the transmission path. The bevel gears (38, 39) are fixedly mounted on either of output shaft (21) or input shaft (20) of the clutch mechanism (17) and the intermediate shaft (32) among which one of the shafts taking a rearer position is inclined relative to the other shaft downwardly and backwardly. These two shafts are disposed relative to each other so that opposed ends thereof take substantially a same level. The propulsion unit permits a low level mounting of engine and may be manufactured with a low cost while permitting to employ a reversing clutch mechanism in boats having different layouts of propulsion unit.

    摘要: A reversing gear assembly (13) for use in yachts having an angle drive system comprises a horizontal input shaft (15), to be connected to a horizontally mounted engine (11), and an inclined output shaft (16) to be connected to the propeller shaft (12). Gear casing (14) includes an intermediate shaft (17) which extends parallel with the output shaft (16). The forward direction drive path includes meshing cylindrical gear (18) and conical gear (20) on the input and output shafts (15, 16). The reverse direction drive path has on the input and output shafts (15, 16) two cylindrical gears (19, 21) with which a skew cylindrical gear (22) on the intermediate shaft (17) meshes at respective axial halves of the skew gear. The center of engagement between the meshing gears (19, 22) on the input and intermediate shafts (15, 17) is located on the sole, common perpendicular line of these shafts. A reversing clutch (23) is disposed on the output shaft (16).The minimum number of shafts and gears for attaining the forward and reverse direction drives and a speed reduction in a reversing gear assembly is three shafts and five gears. Using only one conical gear in such an assembly reduces the troublesome backlash-adjusting work associated with conical gears.

    摘要: A reversing clutch assembly (13) for marine angle drive which allows the engine (11) to be mounted horizontally. To provide a required inclination to propeller shaft (12), the transmission path is bent within clutch casing (14) by using conical gearing. The casing (14) includes three horizontal shafts or input shaft (15), clutch shaft (17) and intermediate shaft (18), and only one inclined shaft or output shaft (16). Clutch shaft (17) has thereon forward and backward direction gears (28, 29) which are driven by the input shaft (15) through gear trains comprising spur gears, and double-acting clutch mechanism (30) for selectively coupling each of the direction gears (28, 29) to clutch shaft (17). The conical gearing is disposed only between clutch shaft (17) and output shaft (16) and thus includes only one conical gear (38).Parallel arrangement of three shafts (15, 17, 18) and use of single conical gear (38) contribute to save cost of the clutch assembly.

    摘要: In the marine V-drive or similar drive system, a novel gearing is employed which provides a bend or turn of power transmission path toward a rearwardly and downwardly inclined propeller shaft in a compact fashion. The gearing comprises a pair of mutually meshed spur gears respectively mounted on a reversing clutch output shaft and a transmission shaft to which the propeller shaft is coupled. Among these spur gears, a first spur gear coaxial with the shaft mounting such first gear is fixedly secured to the said shaft. A second spur gear inclined relative to the shaft mounting such gear is connected operatively to the said shaft particularly by means of constant velocity universal joint disposed within the second gear. The inventive propulsion device is economical owing to the elimination of bevel gear mechanism.

    摘要: In a remote-controlled mechanical double clutch mechanism such as marine reversing clutch, a novel clutch engaging and disengaging means is employed which comprises an extensible and contractible coupling for a connection between push-pull means of remote control system and control lever associated to the clutch. The coupling includes spring means which is enlarged in spring force thereof due to extension and contraction of the coupling on the way of operating the clutch and provides some additional rotation to the control lever at the terminal moment of operation by the enlarged spring force. Such spring means avoids an unexpected disengagement of the clutch from an engaged condition as well as an unexpected engagement of the clutch from the disengaged condition. The novel clutch operating means may compensate manufacturing error of the remote control system and clearance due to abrasion and permits an easy adjustment and maintenance of such operating means.

    摘要: In an inertia lock- and key-type synchronizing clutch assembly, engagement between conical clutch surfaces (29, 36) of a clutch gear (28) and synchronizer ring (35) is enhanced spontaneously under a servo action by a cam means disposed between the synchronizer ring (35) and a hub member (31). Two problems arising from the servo action are solved by additional structures provided to a key member (39) and to the synchronizer ring. That is, an unexpected spontaneous engagement of the clutch mechanism from a neutral condition thereof is prevented with certainty by a cooperation of the key member and a pair of stopper projection (48, 49) on the synchronizer ring. The key member includes at an inner surface thereof a recess (50) for permitting a rotational displacement of the sychronizer ring when a clutch-engaging operation is performed. An end face of such recess includes a ramp surface (51; 51A; 51B) which cooperates with one of the projections of the synchronizer ring so as to assure a clutch-disengaging operation even when a re-engagement of the clutch surfaces due to the servo action is caused in a clutch-disengaging process.

The input shaft (16) fixedly mounts a cylindrical gear (22) which meshes with a forward drive conical gear (23) on the output shaft (16) and with a reverse drive cylindrical gear (25) on the intermediate shaft (17). Center of engagement between the cylindrical gears (22, 25) is located on the sole common perpendicular line of the input and intermediate shafts (15, 17). Reverse drive gear train further includes two meshing cylindrical gears (26, 24) on the intermediate and output shafts (17, 16). The gears (23, 24) on the output shaft (16) are selectively coupled to this shaft by clutch means (32).The parallel arrangement of the output and intermediate shafts (16, 17) and the use of a single conical gear (23) contributes to reducing the manufacturing cost while permitting drive of propeller shaft in either direction with equal power.

    摘要: A frame structure of a vehicle includes a flywheel housing, an intermediate housing and a transmission case that are connected to each other along a longitudinal axis of the vehicle to constitute a vehicle frame with an inner space for accommodating a running-power transmission path for transmitting power from an engine to drive wheels via a HST unit. The flywheel housing has a first end connected to the engine and a second open end opposite to the first end along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The intermediate housing has a hollow shape with a first end and a second end located along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The first end has an abutting surface against which the second end of the flywheel housing abuts, a support surface located radially inwardly of the abutting surface so as to support the HST unit, and an opening surrounded by the support surface. The opening serves as a first-end opening of the intermediate housing along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The abutting surface and the support surface along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle are located so that at least a portion of the HST unit is accommodated within the flywheel housing.

    摘要: A boat propulsion system interposed between a prime mover and a propeller shaft comprises a hydro-mechanical transmission including a hydrostatic transmission part and a gear transmission part. The hydrostatic transmission part includes a variable displacement hydraulic pump having a movable swash plate and a hydraulic motor fluidly connected to the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump is driven by the output rotary force of the prime mover. The gear transmission part is drivingly interposed between the hydrostatic transmission part and the propeller shaft so that the gear transmission part is driven by the input rotary force of the hydraulic pump with the assistance of the output rotary force of the hydraulic motor. A hydraulic clutch system may be interposed between the gear transmission part of the hydro-mechanical transmission and the propeller shaft so as to select one of opposite output rotary directions of the propeller shaft.
