摘要: A failure information management method manages failure information related to a replaceable part of an electronic apparatus, by generating an error log, and storing the error log in a non-volatile memory of the replacement recommended part itself. The error log is generated by recording first generation information in a representative log information part and detailed log information part in a non-overwritable manner with respect to a first failure of a replacement recommended part, and by recording second generation information in the representative log information part and the detailed log information part in an overwritable manner with respect to second and subsequent failures of the replacement recommended part.

摘要: In a vacuum cleaner of the type arranged to stop a motor when a driven brush is overloaded due to engagement with carpet or other obstacles, a starter circuit responsive to a manually operable power switch is employed to start the motor. The rotation of the rotary brush is detected by way of a sensor which produces a voltage. The starter circuit produces another voltage for a given period of time after the power switch is turned on, and these voltages are fed to a latching circuit which produces a control voltage when neither of the first nor second voltage is applied thereto, and the control voltage causes a control unit to interrupt power to the electric motor. As a result, once the latching circuit is put in a latching state after the brush has stopped, the motor is prevented from starting again unless the power switch is turned on again.

摘要: In an information processing apparatus, a control unit includes a first clock device for providing the time of day. A physical domain includes a second clock device, and implements a logical domain that functions as a virtual information processing apparatus. The control unit controls a first time-of-day difference between the time of day of the first clock device and that of the second clock device. The physical domain controls a second time-of-day difference between the time of day of the second clock device and that of the logical domain. In the information processing apparatus, the time of day on the logical domain is controlled based on the first and second time-of-day differences.

摘要: An information processing apparatus that mounts a first and second system boards SB#0 and SB#1 includes a virtualization control unit that operates a virtual machine for virtualizing hardware resources. The SB#0 includes a memory that stores a command line, resource information, and management information. The SB#1 includes a memory that stores a command line and resource information. The command line is executed by the virtualization control unit. The resource information is data used by each system board from among data used when the virtualization control unit operates. The management information is data commonly shared by each system board and used by the virtualization control unit. A command line and resource information are used when the virtualization control unit operates and information on the hardware resources included in the corresponding SB. Each SB executes the command line and refers to the information stored in the memory in SBs.

摘要: An individual identification system and method for identifying individuals having elliptical pupils and elliptical irises. In the individual identification system, an image storage unit stores eye images, an the ellipse preparation unit prepares a plurality of ellipses, and a pixel addition unit adds up pixels laid along circumferences of the ellipses. An ellipse selection unit selects ellipses representative of the pupil and the iris among the plurality of ellipses based upon the sums of the pixels given by the pixel addition unit, whereby the parameters of the selected ellipses are output.

摘要: An information processing apparatus having a storage that stores identification information for identifying an event occurring in a forefront module and completion information for identifying a module having completed the corresponding process, an identifier that identifies an event that any module has not completed the process based on the completion information, an instructor that provides the identification information related to the event identified by the identifier to the forefront module, and instructs the forefront module to execute the process related to the identified event. Each of the modules operates as a determiner that reads the completion information corresponding to the received identification information, and determines whether to skip the process of its own module, and a deliverer that delivers, the identification information to the immediately succeeding module in a case where the determiner determines to skip the process of its own module.

摘要: Provided is a driving assistance device which enables a driver to intuitively determine the relationship between the upper boundary line and the lower boundary line of an anticipated trajectory of travel that is displayed in three dimensions. The driving assistance device is provided with: an image processing device (3) that superimposes a three-dimensional anticipated trajectory of travel (30) of a vehicle, which is read off from a non-volatile memory (4), onto an image captured outside of the vehicle inputted from a capture device (7), and outputs the result to an external display device (12); and a control device (5) which controls the orientation of the three-dimensional anticipated trajectory of travel (30) that is superimposed by the image processing device (3) on the basis of a steering angle signal inputted from a steering sensor (10).
