摘要: Disclosed herein are an electrically conductive resinous composition composed mainly of an electrically conductive carbon powder and a binding agent, wherein said binding agent is a mixture of a thermoplastic resin and a carbodiimide compound, a fuel cell separator and a process for production thereof, and polymer electrolyte fuel cell. The present invention permits efficient mass production of fuel cell separators having high elasticity, good releasability, good dimensional accuracy, and good gas impermeability. The polymer electrolyte fuel cell, in which all or part of separators are those pertaining to the present invention, is immune to the cracking of separators at the time of assembling, decreases only a little in output after continuous operation, and exhibits good gas sealing performance and high impact resistance.

摘要: A water-insoluble, nonionic water-absorptive polyurethane fiber that combines the properties of high water absorptivity and excellent physical strength is produced by extrusion from a thermoplastic polyurethane resin composition at a temperature higher than its melting point. The thermoplastic polyurethane resin composition, which has a water absorption rate within the range of 200-3,000%, is obtained by reacting a polyisocyanate compound, a water-soluble polyalkylene ether polyol having a weight-average molecular weight of 2,000-13,000 and a chain extender at an equivalent ratio (R ratio) between the equivalent number of NCO groups and the equivalent number of OH groups in the range of 1.0 to 1.8. Also provided is a method of producing the water-absorptive polyurethane fiber.

摘要: A bar-positioning member comprising a long metal wire or wire rod with at least one indentation to receive a metal bar intersectingly disposed relative to the wire. The indentation is formed by bending part of the wire and it has only one opening which opens along the longitudinal direction of the wire. The indentation has a bottom shaped approximately in conformity with the circumference of the bar.An apparatus for making a bar positioning member, as above described, comprising a pendulumlike mold member swingable about the base end thereof. The mold member has a grip to hold an intermediate portion of the wire, and the contour of the base end is shaped in conformity with the shape of the indentation.

摘要: A bioreactor carrier is provided using an organic polymer substance having a water absorptivity of 50 to 1,700%, and containing an inorganic salt, organic nitrogen source and/or organic carbon source utilizable as a nutrient by animal cells, plant cells and/or microorganisms which fix to the carrier for uses such as substance production, harmful substance treatment, waste oil treatment, wastewater treatment and deodorization. A preferred polymer substance is a water swellable thermoplastic polyurethane gel having the water absorptivity and a swelling rate of volume of 150 to 4,000%. The polyurethane gel is obtained by reacting together a long-chain diol compound, a short-chain diol compound and a diisocyanate compound. The long-chain diol compound has a number-average molecular weight of 400 to 10,000, and is selected from an ethylene oxide-propylene oxide copolymer having an ethylene oxide content not less than 70% and a polyethylene glycol. The short-chain diol compound has a number-average molecular weight of 30 to 400. The diisocyanate compound has a number-average molecular weight of 100 to 1,000 at an NCO/OH equivalency in the range of 1-5. Microorganisms multiply rapidly at the surface and interior of the carrier. Preferred adherence and proliferation of desired microorganisms is possible by appropriately selecting substances incorporated as microorganism nutrients.
