    摘要: Oxides of nitrogen are adsorbed onto the surfaces of, and particulates are trapped in, pores of channels (130, 133, 139-151) in a porous, interdigitated ceramic particulate filter (57, 100) that has relative rotation with respect to a gas inlet distributor (76, 101). The distributor has a baffle (85) or ribs (121, 122) that causes constantly flowing engine exhaust (53) to enter the filter channels over a large portion of a revolution of the adsorption bed or the distributor, and causes constantly flowing syngas (54) to thereafter pass through those passages during a small portion of each revolution. Either the inlet gas distributor (101) or the filter bed (57) may be rotated to distribute the gases. Dual, alternately regenerated filters (35, 36) may be used.

    摘要: A catalytic partial oxidizer (30) provides syngas (hydrogen and carbon monoxide) to an apparatus intermittently using syngas such as valves (34) feeding NOx traps (35), for brief periods of time. During turndown times when syngas is not being used, either the output of the CPO is diverted (33) to the inlet (13) of an engine (12) through the engine gas recycle (EGR) system (43-46), or the amount of fuel (19) and exhaust (23) applied to the CPO is reduced (24, 26; 59, 60) so that the CPO merely stays warm and in a reduced state, thereby being ready to restart immediately. A mini-CPO (62) may provide syngas and heat to the major CPO (30) during the turndown time when syngas is not being used by the NOx traps.

    摘要: A fuel processing system (FPS) (120, 220, 320) provides a hydrogen-rich reformate having a reduced level of CO (34, 234, 62), as for use in a fuel cell power plant (120). The FPS includes, in combination, a reformer (30, 230) for converting hydrocarbon feedstock (22) to reformate and a multistage hybrid WGS reactor (150, 250, 350) for converting CO with H2O in the reformate to H2 and CO2 to reduce the CO in the reformate. The multistage hybrid WGS reactor (150, 250, 350) has one stage (154, 254, 352) of active noble metal catalyst (174, 274, 374), typically platinum and/or rhenium, and an other stage (152, 252, 354) of Cu-based WGS catalyst (172, 272, 372), e.g. Cu/ZnO, whereby the collective volume of the one and the other stages is relatively small, being less than about ½ that of prior WGS reactors. The Cu-based WGS catalyst may be modified to reduce self-heat. Protection from sulfur in the reformate is also provided. The multistage hybrid WGS reactor (150, 250, 350) may further include an O2 guard.

    摘要: Decision metrics used to decode wireless communication payloads are combined for successive frames to improve decoding of the later received frames. A bitwise payload difference between successive frames is encoded in the same manner the payloads are encoded. Decision metrics determined for the earlier received frame are combined with the encoded payload difference to generate adjusted decision metrics. The adjusted decision metrics are combined with decision metrics determined for the later received frame. The combined decision metrics are decoded to generate a payload for the later received frame. If the decoding is not successful the combined decision metrics are carried forward and the process is repeated based on the payload difference between the following frames.

    摘要: Systems and methods are provided to generate a set of synchronization channel sequences that optimize time and frequency acquisition. A set of root indices of Zadoff-Chu sequences in a first domain (e.g., time domain) that optimize a performance metric or merit factor are identified. An optimal index is determined that also optimizes a performance metric in a reciprocal domain (e.g., frequency domain). Optimal indices satisfy a centro-symmetric relationship with respect to a half-value of sequence length: When 1 is an optimal index, N−1 is also an optimal root index. For sequences of length Q2=N, a base sequence generated with an optimal sequence can be utilized to generate at least two disparate optimal sequences through sign-flip, conjugation, and periodic modulation operations.
