摘要: A magnetoresistive effect element 5 is physically configured such that the element width is at least three times as large as the element height. A plurality of domain control layers 11 to 13 are located between the magnetoresistive effect element 5 and a plurality of detecting electrodes 8 to 10 in a state that the domain control layers 11 to 13 are closely formed on the magnetoresistive effect element 5. Each of the domain control layers 11 to 13 applies a unidirectional magnetic field to a region of the magnetoresistive effect element 5 vertically disposed in a guard band of the magnetic recording medium 4, the guard band having no information recorded therein. The unidirectional magnetic field is directed in an orientation of an initial magnetization in a single magnetoresistive effect element, the orientation of which depends on a direction of on an easy axis of the magnetoresistive effect element 5.

摘要: An organic semiconductor device includes at least p-type and n-type channel organic semiconductor elements. Each organic semiconductor element includes a pair of a source electrode and a drain electrode which are facing each other, an organic semiconductor layer deposited between the source electrode and the drain electrode such that a channel can be formed therebetween, and a gate electrode which applies a voltage through a gate insulating layer to the organic semiconductor layer provided between the source electrode and the drain electrode. The source electrode and the drain electrode of the p-type channel organic semiconductor element are made of materials having values of work function higher than those of the source electrode and the drain electrode of the n-type channel organic semiconductor element respectively.

摘要: There is provided a display device capable of switching the display mode between liquid crystal display and electroluminescence display using a single display panel. The display device includes a driver that generates an EL pixel data pulse according to the brightness level represented by an input image signal during an EL display mode, while generating a liquid crystal pixel data pulse according to the brightness level during a liquid crystal display mode. Each pixel cell includes a dual display element having liquid crystal and EL display functions, and drive means for applying an EL drive voltage to the dual display element according to the EL pixel data pulse, and applying a liquid crystal drive voltage according to the liquid crystal pixel data pulse.
