摘要: A charged beam applying apparatus comprises a column at least having a charged beam generation section and optical system for controlling the charged beam and a chamber for holding a specimen in place which is exposed with the charged beam. At least one inner portion of the column is formed of a specific material whose an atomic number is equal or less than 22. When a contamination is cleaned off in the column through the utilization of an oxidation effect, an oxide film is sometimes formed inside the column. The electric charging of the oxide film causes a beam control error. The specific material such as the metal of the atomic number causes very much less such error. This is because such specific material involves less emission of secondary electrons and less electric charging in the oxide film formed.

摘要: There are provided a composition for forming a superfine pattern and a method employing the same for forming a superfine pattern. The composition enables to simply produce a superfine pattern with high mass productivity. The composition comprises perhydropolysilazane (I), silicon-containing polymer (II) having a hydrocarbon group, and a solvent. The mixture of those polymers contains silicon-hydrogen bonds and silicon-hydrocarbon group bonds in such amounts that the number of the silicon-hydrocarbon group bonds is in a ratio of 1 to 44% based on the total number of the silicon-hydrogen bonds and the silicon-hydrocarbon group bonds. The composition is applied on a resist pattern to form a spacer formed of the composition on the side wall of the ridges in the pattern, and then the spacer or a resin layer disposed around the spacer is used as a mask to form a superfine pattern.

摘要: Proposed is a technique for implementing data communication and distance measurement even in a case where data communication and distance measurement share the physical layer. A wireless communication apparatus includes a radio unit and a distance measuring unit. The radio unit performs communication using a frame that includes at least a data period for transferring data and a beacon period for transmitting a beacon. The distance measuring unit utilizes the beacon period to measure the distance from the wireless communication apparatus to a target object whose distance is to be measured.

摘要: An image pickup apparatus which is capable of interrupting a data searching process quickly without detecting a user pressing a search interruption button. A system controller circuit carries out a searching process for searching least one desired data from a plurality of data stored in a nonvolatile memory or a memory card. When a change-of-status of the image pickup apparatus is detected, for example, when a shutter button has been pressed halfway, the system controller circuit interrupts the searching process and executes an interruption process.

摘要: By connecting to or mounting a first storage medium that stores image data as a retrieval object (e.g. first memory card 121) and a second storage medium that stores a retrieve condition (e.g. non-volatile memory 111 or second memory card 122), an imaging apparatus 100 can store image data as a retrieval object and a retrieve condition on different storage medium. By replacing the first storage medium with a third storage medium, image retrieval can be executed for a plurality of storage medium using the same retrieve condition.

摘要: A writing unit writes first and second divided images on a frame memory. A reading unit adds an end portion included in the second divided image to the first divided image and reads the result as a first read image from the frame memory. Also, the read unit reads the second divided image as a second read image from the frame memory. An image processing unit performs image processing for the first and second read images read from the frame memory. A cutting unit cuts a second sub-end portion from the first read image after the image processing and outputs the result, and cuts a first sub-end portion from the second read image after the image processing and outputs the result.

摘要: The frame rate of a pause frame of a moving image is detected. The number of frame images of the moving image to be used in a process of increasing the resolution of a low-resolution image is determined such that a larger number of frame images is set for a higher detected frame rate. In a super-resolution process, a high-resolution image is generated using the determined number of continuous frame images including the pause frame of the moving image. This makes it possible to appropriately determine the number of frames to be referred to in the super-resolution process in accordance with the frame rate of a moving image when generating a high-resolution image from the frames of a low-resolution moving image.
