摘要: An optical pickup has an objective lens that is shared for light of three wavelengths. The effective diameter of the light that passes through the objective lens decreases in a sequence of the light of a first wavelength (light for a first optical disk), the light of a second wavelength (light for a second optical disk) and the light of a third wavelength (light for a third optical disk); and the light of the third wavelength is incident on the objective lens in a finite system. The objective lens is provided so that the focal distance of the light of the second wavelength is greater than the focal distance of the light of the first wavelength.

摘要: Individual authentication method and apparatus therefor, wherein at least one information out of an eyeground blood vessel image information obtained by an optical means, eyeground blood flow distribution image information obtained by using a laser, and information relating to the change over time thereof is compared and collated with personal information registered in advance, and at least the one information out of the eyeground blood vessel image information, the eyeground blood flow distribution image information, and the information relating to the change over time thereof within a measurement field of view obtained in a direction of a line of sight fixed by a fixation target registered in advance is compared and collated with the personal information registered in advance. The fixation target for fixing the direction of the line of sight may be selected from a plurality of fixation points, such as a part of a character string, a part of a still image, or a part of a moving picture, and has an information of which of them to fixedly view registered in advance. An improved technology for further reinforcing the individual authentication method using measurement of an eyeground blood vessel pattern or an eyeground blood flow distribution is provided.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates provided opposite to each other, a common electrode provided on one of the pair of substrates, and a pixel electrode provided on the other of the pair of substrates. A vertical alignment type liquid crystal is sealed between the pair of substrates. An alignment film is polymerizable upon irradiation of UV, and is obtained by polymerizing substantially the entire alignment film with a voltage applied between the electrodes after the liquid crystal is sealed between the substrates. A pixel region has areas whose electro-optical characteristics are different from each other because of a difference between applied voltages at the time of polymerization.

摘要: A TV receiver as an electronic device is connected to an adjustment device by an exclusive cable of two transmission lines connected to an HDMI connection terminal. In adjustment mode, a main microcomputer of the TV receiver sends a signal to the adjustment device through a transmission line including an HPD line with an HPD port serving as an output port for the signal, and receives a signal from the adjustment device through a transmission line including a +5V line with a +5V port serving as an input port for the signal. Thus, the microcomputer can perform adjustment processes by receiving product information and various set values from the adjustment device to store them in a memory, and by sending the stored various values to the adjustment device, without providing a UART port, making it possible to reduce manufacturing cost.

摘要: When an RF signal is output, noise is prevented from appearing in the RF signal without degrading convenience. The MPU of the set top box has a functionally of an RF determination portion, which determines whether or not the RF signal is being output, the antenna setting portion, which if it is determined by the RF determination portion that the output of the RF signal is started, sets a smart antenna to preset one direction of a first predetermined number of directions and to preset one gain of a second predetermined number of steps of gains, and a change prohibition portion which prohibits a change of a direction and gain of the smart antenna if it is determined by the RF determination portion that the RF signal is being output.
