A process for producing a synthesis gas having carbon monoxide and hydrogen from the reduction of carbon dioxide with natural gas or lower hydrocarbons having methane as a main component and oxygen and steam over catalyst composed of nickel and, as promotors, alkali metal and alkaline earth metal component supported on silicon-containing support such as zeolite, silica, silicate and silica-alumina which are stable under reaction condition is disclosed. This process characterized in that the catalytic activity and performance property are improved by supporting alkali metal, alkaline earth metal and nickel oxide from metal salts having low melting point uniformly on silicon-containing support having high surface area by solid-state reaction. The amounts of adding alkali metal, alkaline earth metal and nickel are 0.01 to 10% by weight, 1 to 20% by weight and 1 to 20% by weight, respectively. The present invention is conducted in the temperature range from 600.degree. C. to 1000 .degree. C., and under a pressure of normal pressure to 20 atm, and gas hourly space velocity of 1,000 to 500,000/hour.

A process for preparing supported nickel catalyst consisting of supporting nickel or metal salt of nickel, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal having low melting point on silicon and aluminum-containing support having high surface area such as zeolite, silica and alumina as an oxide by melting effectively nickel or metal salt of nickel, alkali metal and alkaline earth metal having low melting point is disclosed. This process is characterized in that the supported nickel catalyst prepared by the present invention can be used in reforming reaction of hydrocarbons by using carbon dioxide, steam and oxygen as an oxidant. Metal salts used in the preparation of supported nickel catalyst is generally nitrate, chloride, acetate and carbonate having low melting point of 500° C. or less. The contents of nickel, alkali metal and alkaline earth metal of the catalyst are 1 to 20% by weight, 10% by weight or less and 20% by weight or less, respectively. The calcination temperature of the catalyst is in a range of 300° C. to 1200° C.

A method for preparing a high-heat-resistant-epoxy-resin composition which comprises adding, as catalytic curing agent, a pyrazinium salt having a benzyl group to difunctional and multifunctional epoxy resin and thermoset resin having a similar structure. The epoxy-resin composition obtained by the present invention is excellent in its impregnating property, processability, impact resistance, drug resistance, electric-insulating property, and adhesiveness.
