The catalyst composition comprises an oxidation catalyst comprising a washcoat layer including a platinum group metal supported on a refractory metal oxide support and porous molecular sieve particles having internal pores, the molecular sieve particles protected by a protecting material selected from an organic wax encapsulating the molecular sieve particles, a polymer encapsulating the molecular sieve particles, an inorganic oxide deposited on the surface of the molecular sieve particles, or an organic compound filling the internal pores of the molecular sieve particles, wherein the protecting material prevents interaction of the molecular sieve particles with the platinum group metal.

    摘要: A process to upgrade heavy oil and convert the heavy oil into lower boiling hydrocarbon products is provided. The process employs a catalyst slurry comprising catalyst particles with an average particle size ranging from 1 to 20 microns. In the upgrade process, spent slurry catalyst in heavy oil is generated as an effluent stream, which is subsequently recovered/separated from the heavy oil via membrane filtration. Residual hydrocarbons, i.e., heavy oil and solvent employed in the filtration for the heavy oil extraction are removed from the catalyst particles in a drying zone which employs at least two drying apparatuses to volatize residual hydrocarbons in the catalyst. Valuable metals can be recovered from catalyst particles for subsequent re-use in a catalyst synthesis unit, generating a fresh slurry catalyst.

    摘要: The invention relates to a conversion process for making olefin(s) using a molecular sieve catalyst composition. More specifically, the invention is directed to a process for converting a feedstock comprising an oxygenate in the presence of a molecular sieve catalyst composition, wherein the air feed to the catalyst regenerator is free of or substantially free of metal salts. The air feed is first cooled to remove water and then washed with water to remove essentially all salts from said air feed. The water removed in the cooling step is preferably recirculated to wash the salts from the air feed.

    摘要: Platinum is applied on a carrier such as graphite to form a platinum catalyst. The catalyst becomes poisoned with a metal as a result of use of the catalyst in preparation of hydroxylammonium salts. A method of regenerating the catalyst dissolves the platinum and the metal in an acid. The method also adds ammonium sulfate to the acid to precipitate the platinum. The ammonium sulfate is a by-product of a commercial process to synthesize a caprolactam. Also, the method precipitates the platinum onto the carrier for reuse in the preparation of the hydroxylammonium salts and in preparation of the caprolactam.

    摘要: A method for testing the performance of catalysts used for conversion of FCC regenerator gases comprises subjecting the catalyst simultaneously to a mixture of gases including an oxidizing gas and a reducing gas in more than one cycle in which the ratio of the oxidizing gas to the reducing gas varies over the time of the cycle. Test gases comprising O2, CO, CO2, steam, nitrogen-containing gases and sulfur-containing gases in which the ratio of O2 to CO varies over time for each cycle and in which the products of combustion formed during each cycle can be measured periodically over the cycle yields important data on the usefulness of the catalysts for treatment of regenerator flue gas.
