摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a detector for measuring the surface potential of a photosensitive member on which an electrostatic latent image is formed and a controller which regulates image formation plural times in accordance with the measured surface potential based on the length of time between image formations. In another aspect, the image forming apparatus includes a light source and a setting device for manually setting the quantity of light therefrom between a maximum and minimum value. A test sample of a predetermined optical density is arranged to be illuminated by the light source so as to produce a test light for projection onto a recording medium. A detector detects an electrical surface condition of the test-lighted recording medium. In response to the detected electrical surface conditions, and a controller regulates the image formation in accordance with the detector. The light from the light source is adjusted so that illumination of the test sample assumes a standard value intermediate the maximum and minimum values, and so that illumination of an original assumes the value set by the setting device.

摘要: A surface potentiometer having a movable shield member for intermittently shielding a clearance between a measurement electrode and a surface to be measured to cause a potential of the surface to be measured to be induced as an AC signal in the measurement electrode. A voltage greater than or equal to a maximum value of the potential of the surface to be measured or a voltage smaller than or equal to a minimum value of the surface potential is applied as a bias voltage to the shield member to thereby permit discrimination between positive and negative polarities of the surface potential. A rectifier is provided for rectifying the voltage induced in the electrode, and an operational device substracts the bias voltage from the rectified voltage.

摘要: Various targets are detected in a more accurate manner. Provision is made for a receiving antenna part that has a plurality of receiving antennas arranged in a horizontal direction with a part thereof being shifted in a vertical direction from the others, and has a plurality of combinations of the receiving antennas, of which each combination detects an azimuth in the horizontal direction and an azimuth in the vertical direction of a target; and detection means that detects the target a plurality of times while changing the combination of the receiving antennas. The detection accuracy of the target can be enhanced by making a comparison between at least two detection results obtained by the detection means.

摘要: An object detecting device and an object detecting method capable of performing appropriate object detection that distinguishes an approaching moving object from a stationary object accurately. The relative velocity of an object, which exists in the lateral direction of a vehicle, with respect to the vehicle is detected, the absolute velocity of the object in the horizontal direction of the vehicle is calculated on the basis of the detection signal, and it is determined whether or not the object is an approaching moving object on the basis of the absolute velocity of the object in the horizontal direction of the vehicle. Accordingly, since it is possible to accurately distinguish whether an object existing in the lateral or oblique direction of the vehicle is an approaching moving object or a stationary object, it is possible to appropriately determine whether or not the object is an approaching moving object.
