摘要: A method for combining the operation of the electrical disconnecting safety switch of an electric motor within the motor's electrical terminal housing. This method of operation results in a single, compact housing directly mounted to the electric motor body which is used for both the safety disconnect function as well as the termination point for the incoming power leads and the motor wire taps. This method of operation may be employed for single phase and three phase alternating current motors as well as commonly wired direct current motors. The method further provides for a simple and economical way of mounting the device to a variety of motor frames with the use of appropriate adapter plates. The incorporated motor safety disconnect function is available in either of two configurations. The disconnect function may be operated as a rotary tumbler switch with an external rotary hand operator which allows a fully weatherproof design. The disconnect function may also be operated as a draw-out, or plug type, disconnecting switch which allows more economical manufacture.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for the removal of ore from the hold of a bulk carrier vessel. The prior art employes a boom mounted vacuum probe which is lowered into the ore material to effect unloading. This invention adds material handling hoses between the boom mounted vacuum probe and wheeled vehicles with attached aspirated suction nozzles. Further, the wheeled vehicles are powered from a stationary hydraulic pumping unit connected to the existing electric power of the boom mounted vacuum probe. Ore unloading efficiency is improved when the ore level in the hold reaches a depth of approximately two feet or less by providing wheeled vehicles carrying aspirated suction nozzles over the decking of the hold.

摘要: This invention pertains to a device which is attached on rotating or moving equipment for the purpose of monitoring unsafe levels of equipment vibration. The invention comprises a mechanical assembly which is adjustably sensitive to the vibration amplitude of its given application. The monitor is so designed that it does not include the electronic switching device as an integral part of the invention. Rather, commercially available switching devices (proximity switches) are used as the electronic switching component. In the preferred embodiment, the unit is sensitive to vibration in any plane. The vibration monitor is a signaling device; it can be used to sound an external alarm, engage safety equipment, or disengage or stop moving equipment. It was developed as an inexpensive, rugged, device which can be used in conjunction with general purpose proximity switches to give vibration monitoring capability to an existing proximity switch product line.

摘要: The method of this invention provides a means for altering commonly available inductive voltage detector instruments into dual sensitivity test instruments. By shielding the sensor probe with a metallic material, the probe is made to be unresponsive to energized conductors in near proximity when the shield is grounded by finger contact. A single probe window is provided so that when grounded, the instrument will respond to an energized conductor in only the probe window area allowing testing of single conductors in wire bundles. When ungrounded by the electrician's finger, the instrument reverts to normal sensitivity. Provision is made for safety by isolating the metallic shield from contact with energized conductors. The method may be employed by means of a demountable accessory or incorporated into the test instrument during manufacture.

摘要: The present invention is a centrifuge device which separates chips or shreds of containers from whatever liquid residue remains within these containers. Though this technology is suitable for a number of applications, a primary objective is the separation of the recyclable plastic of a motor oil container from the remaining re-usable motor oil within the container after the container has ostensibly been emptied. It is an objective to accomplish this in an economically advantageous manner which uses neither a solvent nor a wash process, and which reclaims the oil in a suitable form for reprocessing. In its preferred embodiment, the present invention may be utilized as a compact, free-standing size reduction and reclaiming device at the location where the container is used, such as in automotive service stations, and the like. In a second embodiment, production units may be used in plastic reclaiming plants where large quantities of a given plastic container are being centrally processed.

摘要: The present invention is a method for using a horizontal, continuous process auger centrifuge to separate the granulated material of a container from whatever liquid residue remains within the container. Though this technology is suitable for many diverse applications, a primary objective is the continuous separation of the recyclable plastic of a motor oil container from the remaining reusable motor oil within the container after the container has ostensibly been emptied. It is an objective of the method to accomplish this separation in an economically advantageous manner which uses neither a solvent nor a wash process, and which reclaims the oil in a suitable state for reprocessing. In a second method, a rinsing mechanism is employed by which a residual liquid waste, such as soap, may be concentrated and separated in a first rinse stage without introducing the residual liquid waste in dilute form into the waste water treatment process.

摘要: This apparatus is a continuous processing device designed to remove labels and similar contaminants from granulated material prior to its reclamation into a manufactured product. The apparatus is particularly suited to the removal of adhesive backed product labels affixed to plastic base materials subsequent to granulation of the intact plastic item. This allows reprocessing of label-contaminated plastic containers into plastic pellets with greater economy and a higher purity of the end product. The need for this process is particularly acute with blow molded plastic containers which have paper or plastic labels affixed to large areas of their surface. Because this apparatus is continuous in operation, it can be placed in line with other automatic processing equipment such as granulators, washers, classifiers, and extruders. The success of this apparatus results from a combination of physical and thermal forces generated within the equipment which remove the adhesive from the plastic base. A further air classification process removes the waste fiber or adhesive products from the salvageable granulated material.
