Abstract: A method of making a thin film capacitor. A base electrode is formed in the form of a thin titanium metal film on a substrate. A tin dielectric layer is formed on the titanium metal film by sputtering from a composite cathode. The cathode consists essentially of lead and titanium, and the atmosphere in the sputtering atmosphere is oxidizing atmosphere, so that the thin dielectric layer consists essentially of lead oxide and titanium oxide.
