Abstract: A vehicular driver monitoring system includes an interior rearview mirror assembly including a mirror head that accommodates a mirror reflective element, a video display screen, and a driver monitoring camera that views at least a driver's head region of the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicular driver monitoring system, based at least in part on processing of image data captured by the driver monitoring camera, determines a gaze direction of the driver. Based at least in part on determination that the gaze direction of the driver is directed is toward the mirror assembly, the video display screen is electrically operated to display video images at a first brightness, and responsive to determination that the gaze direction of the driver is not directed toward the mirror assembly, the video display screen is electrically operated to display video images at a second brightness that is less than the first brightness.

Abstract: A vehicular camera module includes a housing assembly that includes an inner housing element that accommodates a transparent cover element and that is pivotable relative to an outer housing element that mounts at a vehicle. A camera is accommodated by the housing assembly and mounted to the outer housing element. The camera views exterior of the vehicle via the cover element. An outer surface of the cover element is exposed exterior of the vehicle and, when the inner housing element and the cover element pivot relative to the outer housing element, a wiper of the outer housing element engages the outer surface of the cover element to remove moisture and/or debris from the outer surface of the cover element.

Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mounting arm and a mirror head. The mounting arm is received through an aperture in the mirror head, and an actuator is attached at the mounting arm within the mirror head. The actuator is operable to adjust the mirror head relative to the mounting arm and includes first and second motors that drive respective first and second gears. The first gear engages an arcuate gear disposed at an attachment element attached at the mirror head, and when the first motor is operated, the arcuate gear and the attachment element pivot relative to the actuator to adjust the mirror head about a first pivot axis. The second gear engages a rotationally fixed gear rotationally fixed to the mounting arm, and when the second motor is operated, the actuator travels about the second gear to adjust the mirror head about a second pivot axis.

Abstract: A vehicular exterior door handle assembly includes a handle portion movable relative to a base portion. The handle portion includes a grasping portion pivotable relative to the base portion about a pivot axis. An electronic sensing device is configured to detect a discrete movement of the handle portion relative to the base portion. The detected discrete movement is in at least one direction parallel to a plane of the handle portion. The plane is parallel to the pivot axis and parallel to a longitudinal axis of the handle portion. Based on the electronic sensing device detecting an unlocking movement, an electronic switch coupled to a latch mechanism of the door is actuated. The unlocking movement includes two or more discrete movements of the handle portion. When the electronic switch is actuated, the electronic switch actuates the latch mechanism of the door to unlock the door.

Abstract: A vehicular overhead console includes a housing and a pair of cover panels. Each cover panel is disposed at a respective opening of a pair of openings of the housing and includes a compartment configured to accommodate an item. Each cover panel is adjustable between a closed position and an opened position. A mechanical actuator is accommodated by the housing and coupled to each cover panel. The mechanical actuator is configured to move the cover panels together and in tandem between the closed and opened positions. The mechanical actuator includes a latch mechanism that releasably retains the cover panels in the closed positions. Responsive to at least one of the cover panels being manually moved from the closed position further away from the opened position, the latch mechanism releases the cover panels to allow the cover panels to move toward the opened positions.

Abstract: A vehicular closure system includes a cover panel disposed at a charge port of a vehicle and movable between a closed position, where the cover panel conceals the charge port, and an opened position. An actuator is operable to move the cover panel between the closed and opened positions. A motor of the actuator rotates an output gear about an axis of rotation. An output element is connected to the cover panel and rotates about the axis of rotation as the cover panel moves. When the motor of the actuator is operated to move the cover panel, the output element rotates in tandem with the output gear. When the cover panel is manually moved, the output element rotates about the axis of rotation relative to the output gear.

Abstract: A vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head adjustable relative to a mounting assembly. The mounting assembly includes a base portion configured to attach at an interior portion of a vehicle and an arm having a pivot element. The mirror head is adjustably attached at the pivot element of the arm via a ball-and-socket pivot joint. The arm is pivotally attached at the base portion via a uni-axial pivot joint and pivots relative to the base portion about a pivot axis of the uni-axial pivot joint. The uni-axial pivot joint limits pivoting of the arm relative to the base portion about other axes. The uni-axial pivot joint includes a retention mechanism that is configured to retain the arm in a selected position relative to the base portion. The mirror head is adjusted via pivoting of the mirror head at the ball-and-socket pivot joint.

Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mounting arm, a mirror head accommodating a mirror reflective element, and an electrically operable actuator disposed at a distal end of the mounting arm within the mirror head. The actuator is electrically operable to adjust the mirror head relative to the mounting arm, with the mirror reflective element moving in tandem with the mirror head relative to the mounting arm. The actuator includes first and second electrically operable motors that drive respective first and second gears. When the actuator is electrically operating to adjust the mirror head relative to the mounting arm and based at least in part on a position of the actuator about a pivot axis tracked by a pivot memory element, an operating speed of the second electrically operable motor is adjusted to adjust a pivoting speed of the mirror head about the pivot axis.
