    摘要： Adhesives containing polyvinyl ether copolymers having a weight average molecular weight of >10,000, comprisea) from 0 to 95% by weight of vinyl ethers of the formula IH.sub.2 C.dbd.CH--O--Rb) from 5 to 100% by weight of hydrophilic vinyl ethers of the formula IIH.sub.2 C.dbd.CH--O--R.sup.1andc) from 0 to 30% by weight of further monomers,where R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 -alkyl and R.sup.1 is an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical which may be substituted by hydroxyl groups or interrupted by nonadjacent groups --Y--, Y is oxygen, sulfur or a group NR.sup.2 or N.sup.+ R.sup.2 R.sup.3 X.sup.-, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently of one another are each hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl and X.sup.- is a counter-anion, and the molar ratio of carbon atoms to the sum of groups Y and hydroxyl groups in the aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical is from 1.01:1 to 6.5:1.

    摘要： A synthetic resin which carries basic nitrogen groups and is water-dilutable by protonation with an acid, containing(A) a chain-extended, amine-modified epoxy resin obtainable by reacting(a.sub.1) an epoxy resin having an average molecular weight M.sub.n of from 300 to 6,000 and on average from 1.5 to 3.0 epoxy groups per molecule with(a.sub.2) a diketimine of a diprimary diamine, which diprimary diamine contains no further groups reactive with epoxy groups under mild conditions and(B) an amino-modified epoxy resin obtainable by reactingb.sub.1) an epoxy resin having an average molecular weight M.sub.n of from 800 to 6,000 and on average from 1.5 to 3.0 epoxy groups per molecule with(b.sub.2) a secondary amine or a secondary-tertiary diamine, a ketimine of a primary monoamine or a ketimine of a primary/tertiary diamine or a mixture of these (b.sub.2) components, with the proviso that (A) and (B) are different.

    摘要： A synthetic resin which contains quaternary ammonium groups, and its preparation.The water-dilutable synthetic resin which contains quaternary ammonium groups and furthermore contains one or more basic secondary and/or tertiary amino groups per quaternary ammonium group is an adduct of(A) a quaternary ammonium salt which is obtained by reacting(a) an organic compound containing two or more basic amino groups per molecule, one of which is a primary group and is protected as a ketimine by prior reaction with a ketone, and the remaining groups are tertiary groups, with(b) an organic or inorganic acid and(c) a monoepoxide compound, and, if necessary, then eliminating the ketone hydrolytically,(B) a resin which contains on average from 1.5 to 3.0 epoxide groups per molecule, and, if required,(C) one or more monofunctional organic compounds whose functional group is capable of undergoing an addition reaction with an epoxide.This synthetic resin is suitable as a binder and a grinding resin for cathodic electrocoating.

    摘要： The invention relates to surface-coating binders and to their use.The surface-coating binders, which are substantially free from epoxide groups, are based on a reaction product of (A) a Mannich base obtained from one or more polyhydric phenols which are free from ether groups and contain two or more aromatic rings, and/or one or more monohydric or polyhydric phenols which contain one or more ether groups and contain two or more aromatic rings, one or more secondary amines which contain one or two hydroxyalkyl groups and which may or may not be mixed with secondary dialkylamines or dialkoxyalkylamines, and formaldehyde or a formaldehyde donor, and (B) an epoxy resin, the reaction product of (A) and (B) additionally containing, built into its chemical structure, an olefinically unsaturated alkylphenol of the general formula (I) ##STR1## where R is a radical of 11 to 19 carbon atoms which contains from one to three carbon-carbon double bonds.These surface-coating binders are used, especially in their protonized form, for the cathodic electrocoating of metal articles.
