The adhesive composition is used for assembling elements made of plastic materials, like PMMA or SAN, or inorganic materials, like glass or metals, employed for manufacturing of devices for the distribution of containment of biological substances.

The present invention relates to copolymers which can be used as adhesion mediating agents (adhesivers) between polymers and inorganic-oxide material. They are characterized by a reactive alkoxysilyl group and an acrylic or methacrylic acid moiety. Each of these two groups is linked to a fundamental constituent having two chain carbon atoms, this fundamental constituent being constructed on a compound having an ethylenically unsaturated group as monomer. The ratio of the alkoxysilyl groups to the acrylic or methacrylic acid esters in the new copolymers can be established as desired, for example by copolymerizing the copolymers with other compounds having ethylenically unsaturated groups, which do not have the above-named moieties. The present invention also relates to a method of preparing these new copolymers as well as intermediates which occur in the practice of this method, as formerly unknown products.

In one embodiment, the coating contains an anionic anti-static agent comprising a sulphonated copolyester resin. In an alternative embodiment, the coating contains an anti-static agent comprising an organometallic, such as an organo zirconate, in combination with metal oxide particles. The metal oxide particles may comprise nanoparticles. In one embodiment, the coating can further contain a print enhancing agent and an adhesion promoter.

Compositions for binding organic or inorganic fibers is described. The compositions may include an aqueous solution having a pH of about 4.5 or more. The aqueous solution may include a polycarboxy polymer that is about 10%, by wt., to 100%, by wt., of a butenedioic acid or butenedioic anhydride; and a polyol. The compositions can maintain a pH of about 5 or more after being cured into a thermoset plastic with the fibers. Processes for preparing a binder composition for organic or inorganic fibers are also described. The processes may include providing an aqueous solution of polycarboxylic acid polymers, where the polymers comprise about 10%, by wt., to 100%, by wt., of a butenedioic acid or butenedioic anhydride; adding a polyol to the aqueous solution; and maintaining the pH of the aqueous solution at about 5 or more.

A method for applying brazing material to a metal structure includes applying a sticky material maintaining adhesiveness up to temperatures of at least 180.degree. C. and preferably above 200.degree. C., to at least a subregion of the structure. Then brazing powder is applied which continues to adhere to the sticky material. After the application of the brazing powder but before an actual brazing process, the structure is heat treated without the brazing powder falling out during the heat treatment or during ensuing handling steps. The heat treatment may be a heat-degreasing of the structural parts that do not have or do not yet have brazing material applied to them.
