    摘要: A lightning detection system provides an estimated location of a lightning stroke. The system includes sensors, and an analyzer. Each sensor provides messages having sensor identification, an amplitude responsive to the lightning stroke, and a time of detecting the lightning stroke. The analyzer applies time corrections and amplitude corrections to improve the accuracy of determining the location of the lightning stroke. Time adjustments and amplitude adjustments for the time and amplitude corrections are recalled from a matrix accessed according to a suggested or estimated location. The matrix may be organized by coordinates of longitude and latitude.

    摘要: In a method and device for machining material, an unfocused beam of laser radiation is focused and directed at the material surface, creating an interface of laser radiation and material to be machined. The beam waist, which results from the focusing the laser radiation, is held in the region of the interface of laser radiation and material. The spacing of the beam waist from the upper or lower side of the interface in the axial direction corresponds at most to triple the value of the penetration depth of the interface into the material. The focusing is effected such that components of the laser radiation are made divergent not just in the propagation direction downstream of the beam waist but also in the beam waist itself and/or also in the propagation direction upstream of the beam waist.

    摘要: A ball bearing (1) has an inner race (2) and an outer race (3). In order to prevent the rotating parts from being damaged when the bearing assembly fails, the bearing has emergency bearing surfaces (14, 15) which are concentric to the rotational axis (6) and of which one is a part of the rotating bearing race and the other is a part of the fixed bearing race. During normal operation, the emergency bearing surfaces (14, 15) are situated opposite one another with a relatively narrow gap (24) therebetween. But, in the event of failure, the surfaces (14, 15) engage and function as emergency bearing surfaces.

    摘要: In a method for cutting structural components to be joined by laser radiation that is guided by a computer-controlled manipulation system provided with a nominal path for each structural component corresponding to a joining line that is curved as a result of at least one of the structural components being three-dimensionally shaped, the structural component surfaces of the structural components including the joining line are determined measuring technologically. Based on measuring results, the nominal path corresponding to a penetration line of the structural components to be joined is calculated. A marking is formed on a first one of the structural component surfaces. When performing the cut on the structural component surface provided with the marking, the resulting cutting gap and the marking are determining measuring technologically. When a deviation of the cutting gap from the nominal path is detected, the manipulation system is controlled to correct the deviation.

    摘要: A solenoid valve for tank ventilation in motor vehicles, comprising a magnetic yoke with at least one valve opening and with a cooperating spring-loaded valve member for opening and closing the at least one valve opening. The valve element constitutes a magnetic armature of an electromagnet and is disposed between the magnetic yoke of the electromagnet and a hollow, cylindrical magnet core of the electromagnet. A valve seat body which is separate from the magnetic yoke and contains the at least one valve opening is disposed in an axial opening in the magnetic yoke, and on a side remote from the valve member. The valve seat body rests against a housing wall of the solenoid valve by use of a support element made of a damping material.

    摘要: A boiling water reactor has a control element disposed in a water pond. An apparatus for the neutron-radiography testing of the control element includes a film cassette having a recording area. A water-free hood is fitted over the control element. The hood has an open bottom and a wall facing the film cassette. The wall has an opening formed therein with a cross section corresponding to the recording area. A holding device fits over the opening for receiving the film cassette. The holding device has a downwardly open side extended below the opening through which the film cassette is to be introduced into the water-free space in the holding device. A neutron source, a collimator and the film cassette lie in one measurement plane. The opening in the hood wall reduces the proportion of scattered neutrons and the impairment of image quality caused by a film of water remaining between the hood wall and the film cassette and by the hood wall itself, in prior art devices in which the film cassette is disposed outside the hood.
