A connection status module is configured to monitor the plurality of antennas for a data packet of a plurality of data. A control module is configured to power more than one of the plurality of antennas to measure signal quality in response to receiving the data packet. The signal quality comprises a power level of each of the plurality of antennas and a correlation of the plurality of antennas. An antenna quality module is configured to determine whether the correlation of the plurality of antennas is greater than a threshold in response to the connection status being active.

The finger is initially operated with a first parameter set which is held in a first memory area (PAR_RAM). To change the parameter set, a second parameter set is loaded into a second memory area (PAR_CHG_RAM1/2), a check is carried out to determine whether a switching condition (SCHED_RAM) is satisfied, and if it is an access for that finger is switched (MUX) from the first memory area (PAR_RAM) to the second memory area.

Averaging processes are carried out over two or more delay profiles obtained in this way. Evaluations are carried out in one or more threshold value selection units (22.1, 22.2) on two or more averaged delay profiles with the aim of path selection. The parameters which govern the correlations and/or the averaging processes and/or the evaluations, and/or the repetition interval of these calculations are set as a function of the relative speed between the transmitter and the receiver, the frequency error between the carrier frequency of the received signal and the reference frequency that is set at the receiving end, and the noise level of the received signal. In the case of reception from two or more base stations, a final path selection is made in a finger allocation unit (40).

A filter housing with an adsorption filter, and an air inlet and an air outlet that can be connected to a venting neck of the fuel tank. An air pump device for error diagnosis, which is integrated with a pump housing that has a pump inlet and a pump outlet. To attain a compact design of the tank venting system that is economical in terms of installation space, the pump housing is mounted with the pump outlet oriented coaxially to the air inlet on the filter housing and secured on the filter housing by means of spring-elastic fastening elements. The transition between the pump outlet and the air inlet is sealed off in airtight fashion.
