    摘要: An original is first illuminated with a light beam of white color or a wavelength adapted for reading of the original, and an optical image of the original is focused on a photosensitive drum previously charged uniformly, to form an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive drum. Thereafter, the photosensitive drum is scanned with a laser beam, and a discharge current attendant on the scanning is detected and converted into an electric signal representative of the optical image. Thus, a monochromatic laser can read graphic records of any color.

    摘要: The present invention provides an image reducing system and method capable of retaining fine lines in a reduced image by reducing an original image and by quickly forming the reduced image with high quality. The method includes specifying positions of pixels of a reduced image in the original image according to reduction ratios, extracting a run of pieces of the same color information about the color of the pixels of the original image as a line, determining the line width of the extracted line and determining the line width after reduction in the reduction ratios based on the line width of the extracted line and calculating the centroid of the extracted line, and retaining the color information about the extracted line at a reduced pixel near the centroid on the basis of the centroid of the extracted line and the line width after reduction. The method further performs the step of determining the color information about each reduced pixel based on the retained color information.

    摘要: An image filing apparatus and method for receiving as multivalue data an image corresponding to a document, converting the data to binary image data and storing the binary image data. According to the features of the present invention, pixels of that portion of an input image corresponding to a particular color are extracted, and luminance data expressing monochromatic binary image data and binary image data designating colored portions are stored in different planes. Not only black pixels but also pixels expressed in a particular color such as red are described in the plane for the luminance data. Pixels having a particular color to be expressed in "red" such as red characters are extracted and recorded as "1" in another particular color plane, for example, in R-plane different from the luminance plane. The R-plane is recorded with binary image data; only pixels written in "red" are expressed as "1" there and other pixels as "0". When outputted, the pixels in which the contents of the luminance plane are "1" and the contents of the R-plane are "0" are displayed in black and the pixels in which the contents of the R-plane are "1" are displayed in red.

    摘要: An image display apparatus that can ease the man-machine interaction when a user searches for a document in an electronic filing system, for example, through the image display apparatus. In a conventional electronic document filing system, it has been difficult to search for a document by inspecting or looking at the original document images shown on an image display screen. The difficulty comes from the lack in a capability of controlling the instantaneous display speed, an appropriate feedback to the user to synchronize the image paging, and a capability of showing the direction of paging. The image display apparatus disclosed here has a tactile feedback mechanism that tells the user the time a new image page is shown and that also tells him/her other status of the apparatus, like how busy it is, in terms of a tactile signal to the user's fingers. The mechanism is installed in a mouse-like pointing device that tells the apparatus the speed of paging. By using this, the user can control the paging speed spontaneously and at the same time he/she can feel the paging through the tactile feedback, in addition to a kind of sound effect.

    摘要: A filing method and a system for filing image data operate to divide an input image having a dot number larger than a predetermined dot number of a display screen at a fundamental unit equal to the display screen size, to file the divided input images as a plurality of partial image data on an optical disk, and to retrieve the filed images at high speed. The division filing system includes an input image process device for compressing the divided partial image data, and an index generating device, such as a complexity detecting circuit, for extracting either position information of a distinguishable partial image, or address information among the divided partial images. An optical disk device stores either the position information or the address information as well as the compressed image data into an optical disk. The image retrieval process sequentially reads the compressed image data of only the distinguishable particular image from the optical disk, while referring the address information or the position information image.

    摘要: A character stream search system using an FSA for determining at a time whether or not a plurality of character streams as search objects exist in a search character stream which undergoes a search operation and which comprises a plurality of characters expressed with codes. In the system, a collation is conducted between the search character stream and a search object character. In a case where there exists a matched search object character as a result of the collation, a state transition is carried out of a predetermined state indicated by the FSA. In a case where there does not exist a matched search object character, a failure processing to effect a state transition to a transistion destination which is determined in association with the configuration of the FSA. The following processing is completed at a count which is a predetermined upper-limit value for each character undergone the search operation.
