摘要: An improved vehicular anti-skid brake device in which a brake oil pressure generating device generates brake oil pressure in accordance with a braking operation input. A braking force applying device applies a braking force to wheels in response to the brake oil pressure generated in the brake oil pressure generating device. At the time of braking the wheels, a control device actuates immediately the brake oil pressure generating device so as to restrain generation of the brake oil pressure by the brake oil pressure generating device against the braking operation input when the braking force to the wheels by the braking force applying device is excessive. The anti-skid brake device of the present invention is high in reliability of operation, has a good response in braking sense, can overcome difficulty in mounting and arranging the device on the vehicle, simplifies an oil passage arrangement required for the anti-skid control. It can easily be applied to conventional general brake devices without considerable change in structure thereof.

摘要: A motorcycle or the like is provided with parallel telescoping tubes forming part of an inclined front fork assembly straddling the front wheel. The wheel is mounted for rotation on said assembly about an axis spaced rearward of the telescoping tubes to reduce friction forces between them. The lower ends of the upper tubes are tapered to promote the formation of oil wedges for maintaining an oil film between the telescoping parts. Also, the fork assembly is mounted on the frame for pivotal movement about an inclined axis diverging with respect to a plane containing the axes of the telescoping tubes.

摘要: Disclosed is a self-diagnosis apparatus in a fuel evaporation gas scattering preventing system in an internal combustion engine. The apparatus comprises: a canister communicating with a fuel tank and containing therein an absorption material adapted to absorb a fuel evaporation gas in the fuel tank; a discharge path for making the canister communicate with a suction path of an internal combustion engine; an opening/closing device provided in the discharge path for opening/closing the discharge path; an air-fuel ratio detector for detecting an air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture fed to the internal combustion engine; a gas generation quantity detector for detecting a quantity of generation of fuel evaporation gas within the fuel tank; judgment device for controlling the opening/closing device to close/open the discharge path to thereby judge whether abnormality exists or not on the basis of a change in the air-fuel ratio detected by the air-fuel ratio detector upon closing/opening discharge path, when the gas generation quantity detector detects that gas is being generated within the fuel tank; and a warning device for generating a warning when the judgment device proves existence of abnormality.

摘要: A front wheel suspension assembly for a motorcycle includes parallel telescoping forks of the hydraulic shock absorber type which straddle the wheel and which are inclined in a forward direction. The bending moment imposed on the telescoping parts by this inclination is partly or fully opposed by a counter bending moment imposed by one or more springs positioned rearward of a vertical plane containing the wheel axis and below a bottom bridge joining the front fork tubes. The purpose is to reduce the frictional resistance between telescoping forks in their axial sliding motion. The springs apply the compensating bending moment between the telescoping parts, or between the lower telescoping fork parts and the frame of the motorcycle.

摘要: A suspension device for use in a vehicle, adapted to be arranged between a wheel suspension member and the body structure of the vehicle and capable of increasing the spring rate of the device to a substantial extent in a relatively low load range so as to minimize the pitching and/or rolling motion of the vehicle while retaining its intrinsic pneumatic spring characteristics in the relatively high load range so as to bear a considerably heavy load imposed thereupon, for the purpose of providing improved running stability of the vehicle without impairing the riding comfort thereof. The device includes a telescopic shock absorber filled with hydraulic fluid, a spring unit having a pneumatic spring chamber containing air or gas under pressure and a hydraulic fluid chamber in communication with the interior of said shock absorber, both defined therein by means of an elastic diaphragm on the opposite sides of the latter, and a spring means such as an elastic rubber spring disposed within the hydraulic fluid chamber in facing relation with the diaphragm for resisting the inflation of the pneumatic spring chamber in response to extensive movement of the shock absorber beyond a definite length.

摘要: An electronically controlled fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine, the system being of the type which controls fuel injection using the charging and discharging of a capacitor and comprising engine operating parameter sensors, a capacitor, and a control unit for controlling the charging and discharging of the capacitor. The charging of the capacitor is initiated at a timing determined as a function of engine speed and throttle opening angle and the discharging thereof is initiated subsequently to the completion of the charging. The charging time period is determined by engine speed and the discharging current is determined by intake air quantity. A basic fuel injection signal is produced so as to have a pulse duration equal to the discharging time period.

摘要: A braking system for a motorcycle employing a multipiston fluid cylinder arranged in series to provide stepped braking from a single input to both the front and rear wheels. Additionally, a proportional pressure reduction valve operates to reduce the proportional braking pressure to the rear wheel of the motorcycle above a threshold or break point pressure level. An anti-locking system is employed with the front braking system. This anti-locking mechanism includes a warning buzzer and light simultaneously activated and deactivated with the anti-locking mechanism. A control mechanism including a control rod having stepped surfaces is employed to increase the threshold pressure of the proportional pressure reduction valve. The control mechanism disables the warning buzzer and the anti-locking mechanism and generates a continuous warning light signal.
