摘要： In a conventional liquid crystal display, for example, a grayscale display characteristic is changed by providing a plurality of grayscale voltage generation circuits which are selected by a selection circuit, which has resulted in a complicated circuit and consequently in a cost increase. A data conversion circuit 8 utilizing algorithm for performing arbitrary data conversion converts digital image data input from the outside and inputs the resultant data to driving circuits 3 through a control signal generation circuit 1. The source driving circuits 3 select one of a plurality of grayscale voltages generated by the grayscale voltage generation circuit 2 based on the converted digital image data and outputs the same to source lines, thereby changing the grayscale display characteristic.

摘要： A matrix display panel has scan lines that are selected in consecutive order. An interlaced image signal is displayed by the use of one or more output enable signals that enable only every second selected scan line to be driven. A progressively scanned image signal having a frame rate too high to be handled by the matrix display panel is displayed as an interlaced image, by use of the same output enable signals. Consequently, no frame memory is needed for scanning conversion or frame-rate conversion.

摘要： A plasma display apparatus and a driving method of a plasma display panel which can improve a gradation expressing ability at low luminance. A magnesium oxide layer containing a magnesium oxide crystal which is excited by irradiation of an electron beam and performs a cathode luminescence light emission having a peak in a wavelength range of 200 to 300 nanometers is provided in each of display cells formed on the plasma display panel. When driving for a plurality of subfields having different luminance weights is performed, a sustaining discharge is caused only once in the subfield having the minimum luminance weight.
