    摘要: A deflection device for use in a color cathode-ray tube, which has a pair of horizontal deflection coils for generating a pincushion-shaped horizontal deflection magnetic field, a pair of vertical deflection coils for generating a barrel-shaped vertical deflection magnetic field. The deflection device also having a pair of correction coils each of which being located at a distance of 10 mm or less from a plane containing the center and vertical axes of the device, a current flowing through each correction coil in synchronism with, and in a direction opposite to, the currents flowing in the horizontal deflection coils. The deflection device may also include a second pair of correcting coils, each of which being located adjacent to the first pair of correcting coils and arranged in a similar arrangement relative to the plane defined by the center and vertical axes.

    摘要: A deflection yoke of a cathode ray tube apparatus comprises a pair of saddle-type horizontal deflection coils located symmetrically with respect to a central axis and substantially in the shape of a truncated pyramid. A magnetic core substantially in the shape of a truncated cone is located coaxially around the horizontal deflection coils, and a pair of vertical deflection coils are wound on the magnetic core. A relation between a space vf between a large-diameter end portion of the magnetic core and each of the horizontal deflection coils and a space vr between a small-diameter end portion of the magnetic core and each of the horizontal deflection coils, with respect to the direction of a vertical axis perpendicular to the central axis, is given by vf≧vr.

    摘要: An electron gun assembly of a color cathode ray tube emits at least one electron beam having an oblong cross-sectional shape extending substantially in the horizontal direction, and emits three electron beams in a substantially non-convergent state toward the central portion of a phosphor screen. A deflection device comprises an auxiliary magnetic field generator for generating a quadrupole magnetic field component which focuses the electron beam with an oblong cross section more heavily in the horizontal direction than in the vertical direction. The auxiliary magnetic field generator is located in a given region in a tube-axis direction in which the horizontally deflecting coil is located.

    摘要: A shadow mask is arranged to face a phosphor screen formed on an inner surface of a panel. A plurality of aperture columns are formed in parallel in the shadow mask. Each aperture column includes a plurality of apertures arranged in line at a predetermined interval. On both sides of each aperture column on the surface of the shadow mask facing the electron gun, stripe-shaped dielectric layers for acting on electron beams toward the apertures are formed respectively, and extend in substantial parallel with the aperture columns. The shadow mask is manufactured in such a manner that stripe-shaped insulating material layers are formed on the surface of a mask base material facing the electron gun, the mask base material is thereafter shaped into a predetermined shape, and the insulating material layers on the shaped mask are sintered.

The shadow mask body includes a rectangular effective portion that is formed having a large number of electron beam passage apertures. The effective portion has a major axis and a minor axis that pass through its center and extends at right angles to each other. The shadow mask comprises an auxiliary mask fixed to a region that contains the minor axis of the effective portion of the shadow mask body. The auxiliary mask is in the form of a strip that extends long in the direction of the minor axis and has a large number of electron beam passage apertures that communicate individually with the electron beam passage apertures of the effective portion.

The effective area is formed such that, in an area of the effective area which is away from the center of the effective area by 1/2 or more of a distance between the center of the effective area and an axial end portion of the effective area in the major axis, a difference between the thickness of the face plate at a point which is on the minor axis and located away from the center of the effective area by a predetermined distance and the thickness of the face plate at a point which is on the diagonal axis and located away from the center of the effective area by the predetermined distance is smaller than a difference between the thickness of the face plate at the point on the diagonal axis and the thickness of the face plate at a point which is on the major axis and located away from the center of the effective area by the predetermined distance.

    摘要: A liquid lens is mounted in a lens opening provided in a photographic instrument by making use of a mounting member made of a material which transmits light of predetermined wavelength and includes an inner wall shaped and dimensioned to receive the periphery of the lens in spaced, opposed relationship. The mounting member includes a portion mounted or to be mounted to the optical instrument. A bonding material is provided between the lens periphery and the mounting member wall, and the bonding material is activated by exposure to light of the predetermined wavelength, which is injected from outside, through the mounting member. Preferably, the light is injected with a guide member having an opening with an interior wall shaped and dimensioned to conform to an exterior wall of the guide member. The light may be injected from an edge of the guide member remote from the opening, through the guide member, and into the mounting member.
