摘要: A tire inflation pressure monitoring device and a vehicle having the same have a battery-driven unit provided on the tire side that can be reduced in size and power consumption. In a diagnosing unit, an ID comparing section outputs the result of detection of a tire inflation pressure to an inflation pressure calibrating section if a wheel ID included in a received signal coincides with a wheel ID recorded in a set value storing section. An atmospheric pressure detecting section calculates an atmospheric pressure at a present position according to an altitude at the present position. An inflation pressure calibrating section calibrates the result of detection of the tire inflation pressure to an inflation pressure at a reference atmospheric pressure. An inflation pressure diagnosing section compares the calibrated inflation pressure with a reference inflation pressure and inputs a predetermined error code into a storing section if the calibrated inflation pressure is lower than the reference inflation pressure. A diagnosing section reads the result of diagnosis corresponding to the error code recorded in the storing section, from the set value storing section and then outputs the result of diagnosis.

摘要: A body incline sensor includes an erroneous detection preventing circuit for transmitting an inclined state signal by determining that a body is in an inclined state when an incline angle detector detects a weight, and a state so detected continues over a predetermined length of time. In the event that the incline angle detector does not detect a weight within a predetermined length of time due to an inertia force resulting when a body is rolling, no inclined state signal is transmitted from an inclined state transmitter, whereby the erroneous detection of the incline of the body can be prevented, the accuracy with which the incline of the body is detected being thus improved. In addition, in the event that the incline angle detector is constituted by the weight and magnets mounted on the weight and reed switches adapted to be switched on by the magnets, and in the event that the inclined state transmitter is constituted by a simple electric circuit, the production costs of the body incline sensor can be suppressed.

摘要: A seat heating element and electronic temperature selector is provided for use in a motorcycle or other saddle-type vehicle, driven by an engine as a source of power. A vehicle seat is provided with first and second heating elements, and the temperature selector controls a supply of electric power to the heating elements, to warm up the vehicle seat. The control unit includes first and second electric relays for use in temporarily blocking power from the electric power source to the heating element, for a predetermined interval, upon detection of an accelerated state of the vehicle. The heating element and control system thereof improves acceleration performance of the vehicle, even when using an electric seat heating element, by temporarily interrupting electric power flow to the seat heating element during acceleration.

摘要: The shift position display device includes a control section configured to automatically shift a shift position by operating actuators based on a shift change command. A gear position display section is configured to display a condition of an automatic transmission based on the display command of the control section. A failure detection unit is configured to detect a failure of the automatic transmission. The control section is configured to switch display of the gear position display section from a lighting display of a numerical figure to a display for failure occurrence notification. The control section is also configured to determine whether the failure is a failure in which traveling is possible or a failure in which traveling is possible when a predetermined limitation is met. The control section is also configured to switch from the display for failure occurrence notification to a shift position.

摘要: A motorcycle includes a fuel tank mounted on a main frame member, an engine arranged below the main frame member, and ignition coils arranged below the fuel tank. The main frame member includes a pair of sub-frame members arranged in a vehicle-width direction in a spaced-apart manner. A coil-holding structure, formed of a plastic resin material, is disposed on the main frame member for arranging the ignition coils thereon between the pair of sub-frame members. A base portion of the coil-holding structure has one or more openings formed therein so as to expose portions of the ignition coils to a traveling wind, during vehicle operation. One of the ignition coils, which is arranged close to a rear side of a vehicle body, is disposed at a position lower than a position of the ignition coil which is arranged close to a front side of the vehicle body.

摘要: An engine starting apparatus with an antitheft function enables rapid and secure starting of a kick-started engine. The engine starting apparatus includes an immobilizer CPU and an ignition CPU, which cooperate to enable authorized engine startup and to prevent unauthorized access. The immobilizer CPU outputs a permission signal if an authentication code from the outside corresponds to a reference code in a vehicle, but outputs an inhibition signal if the authentication code and the reference code fail to correspond. When a starting pedal is kicked, the ignition CPU begins to energize the engine's ignition system, in response to a predetermined engine starting instruction, before the input reference code is verified. If proper authentication is verified by the permission signal, the ignition CPU continues to allow normal engine starting procedure. If the inhibition signal is received from the immobilizer CPU, the ignition CPU interrupts the normal procedure and inhibits engine starting.
