摘要: A method for coating two substrates, face to face (F2F), simultaneously, by laminating the two substances while encapsulating coating material as a thin film in between the first substrate and the second substrate. Then the coated material is conditioned into solid or partial solid layer. Later the two substrates are separated for creating two coated substrates the first coated substrate and the second coated substrate.

摘要: According to embodiments of the present invention, a method for manufacturing an imaged printing member is provided. The method may include imaging a selected image onto a transfer media which is coated with a surface forming coating by applying an image carry material onto the transfer media. Then, applying a coating material onto the substrate and/or the imaged transfer media and laminating the imaged transfer media with the substrate such that the coating material is captured in between. Next, the method may include conditioning the coating material to form the imaging layer of the printing member, the imaging layer having imaged areas and non-imaged areas, wherein the top layer of the non-imaged areas is an interface area between the coating material and the surface forming material.

摘要: Lithographic printing members and a method and system for fabricating them is provided. The printing member may comprise a base layer, a laser-absorbing layer, which may be a gradient solid dispersion of metal and metal-oxide areas, and a coating layer. The concentration ratios between the metal and the metal-oxide vary throughout a thickness of the laser-absorbing layer and the coating layer and the base layer have different affinities for ink. The method of fabricating the printing member may comprise preparing on demand for a single use a liquid-based coating material, pouring the coating material onto a substrate that may comprise a base layer and a laser-absorbing layer and laminating a form film onto the liquid-based coating material to form a coating layer.

摘要: A layered printing plate that attains a high degree of clarity and improved clean out. The printing plate may include an oleophilic substrate, a laser absorbing imaging layer and an oleophobic silicon layer. One embodiment utilizes an amine resin rather than a traditional polymer as the basic organic matter of the imaging layer, adds of colloidal silica into the imaging layer to improve the cleanout properties, and utilizes a substrate that absorbs IR radiation rather than reflects it.

摘要: Following imagewise exposure of a sandwiched photopolymer layer, the outer layers between which the photopolymer is interposed are separated in a manner that leaves some photopolymer on each of the separated layers. The photopolymer remaining on one layer contains the raised pattern that will carry ink, and may be subjected to further exposure to actinic radiation in order to complete the curing process without the need for washing; the photopolymer remaining on the other layer can be removed and reused. As a result, waste is minimized or eliminated.

摘要: An integrated computerized system for use in color printing having at least one digital representation of a color characteristic of at least one page to be printed and a digital storage memory for storing the digital representation. An imposition apparatus is connected to the storage memory to receive the digital representation and arrange the digital representation in accordance with a desired plate layout, thereby to define a plate image. A press set-up device extracts from the plate image the color characteristic and provides ink flow set-up data to a printing press in accordance with the extracted color characteristic.

摘要: Printing plate material supply spool (PMSS) for a printing machine or plate-imaging machine and a method of loading it is provided. An exemplary PMSS can comprise a printing plate material film that is wrapped around a hollow core (HC), wherein the HC is adapted to be engaged with a heavy duty core (HDC) prior to be placed in the printing machine. The method for loading the printing plate material supply spool (PMSS) in a printing machine or plate imaging machine may comprise inserting a heavy-duty core (HDC) inside the HC of the PMSS forming an integrated core. Then the PMSS and the integrated core can be placed in the printing machine.
