摘要: In an installation for harnessing thermal energy, in which in a first part of an operating cycle the working fluid is positively displaced out of a first chamber into a second chamber, in which a higher temperature prevails than in the first, and in a second part of the operating cycle working fluid is positively displaced from the second chamber back into the first chamber, wherein thermal energy is supplied to the working fluid on its passage from the first to the second chamber and removed from the working fluid on its passage from the second to the first chamber, the chambers are formed by variable-volume working chambers of piston machine units (10, 12, 14, 16) coupled with one another and operating out of phase with one another, which communicate with one another by fluid ducts (18, 20, 22, 24) in such a way that the working fluid is positively displaced out of a shrinking work chamber having a relatively high temperature through a first duct, into an expanding work chamber having a lower temperature, and at the same time, working fluid from a shrinking work chamber having a lower temperature is positively displaced through a second duct into an expanding work chamber having a higher temperature. The piston engine units each operate as an entity at a predetermined temperature level, so that problems with respect to the thermal insulation cannot arise.

摘要: A digital particle image velovimetry (DPIV) method for contactless measurement of three dimensional flow velocities comprising the steps of seeding a flow with tracer particles; repeatedly illuminating a plane-like interrogation volume of the seeded flow; projecting the repeatedly illuminated interrogation volume onto at least a photo sensor in a projection direction for recording pictures of the illuminated interrogation volume; and determining the three dimensional flow velocities from the pictures of the repeatedly illuminated interrogation volume recorded by the photo sensor. The plane-like interrogation volume of the invention comprises at least two partial volumes positioned parallelly parallel to each other with regard to the projection direction. The step of repeatedly illuminating the interrogation volume comprises the step of illuminating the partial volumes in such a way that the pictures of different partial volumes are distinguishable from each other. The step of determing the three dimensional flow velocities of the flow comprises the steps of calculating a local autocorrelation function of a double exposed picture of the same partial volume, or calculating a local cross-correlation function between two separate pictures of the same partial volume, calculating a local cross-correlation function between two pictures of two different partial volumes, determining the sign of the out-of-plane component of the local flow velocities by using the location of a peak of the local cross-correlation function between the two pictures of the two different partial volumes, and determining the magnitude of the out-of-plane component of the local flow velocities by using the peak heights of peaks of both local correlation functions.

摘要: An apparatus for the three-dimensional determination of flows has a light source for briefly illuminating a light section (3) and a stereoscopic recording device (10). The stereoscopic recording device (10) comprises two equivalent objectives (11, 12) aligned parallel to each other as well as perpendicular to the plane (22) of the light section (3), and behind the objectives (11, 12) two optical sensor fields (15, 16) aligned parallel to the plane (22). A forward displacement device for the synchronized forward displacement of the projections of the light source (3) onto the two sensor fields (15, 16) has two revolving mirrors (13, 14) aligned parallel and rotating in synchronization about a common axis of rotation (23) as well as in synchronization with the light source, whereby the axis of rotation (23) runs parallel to an imaginary line joining the two objectives (11, 12).

摘要: Improved anchoring of heating elements of a resistance heater to thermally stressed single crystals is achieved by embedding the individual heating element in a recess in the single crystal and permanently joining this to the heating element by a porous sintered composition. The sintered composition is formed by the heat treatment of a suspension that in addition to other components, contains material with the same chemical composition in powdered form as that of the single crystal.

摘要: The present invention relates to an adsorbing material which comprises at least one porous functional solid, e.g. a zeolite, incorporated in a polymer matrix. The adsorbing material contains the porous functional solid in an amount of 45 to 80 wt. %. The polymer matrix comprises at least one organic polymer, particularly selected from thermoplastics, and has a secondary pore volume in addition to the primary pore volume of the porous functional solid. Further, the present invention is directed to a shaped article, which comprises or consists of the afore-mentioned adsorbing material, to a method for its preparation and to its use. The present invention is finally conerned with the use of specific rheological additives, in particular waxy components, which function as pore-forming agents in the preparation of shaped articles.

摘要: A bimetal multiple cylinder for extruders in plastics processing machinery is formed of a plurality of cut-away bimetal tubes having each a base material supporting an internal lining. The bimetal tubes are each cut-away by a pair of longitudinal cuts extending from the tube exterior to the tube interior to expose a pair of cut faces, and the cut faces are each arranged to face a respective cut face of an adjacent cut-away bimetal tube. Adjacent cut-away bimetal tubes are joined to one another by welding at their facing cut faces.
