摘要: A vacuum brake booster assembly comprising front and rear housing shells connected to form a single piece their output peripheral edges and mounted within the passenger compartment of a vehicle, a piston body axially movable in the housing shells, a diaphragm member hermetically secured at its inner peripheral edge to the piston body and clamped at its outer peripheral edge by the outer peripheral edges of the housing shells to subdivide the interior of the housing shells into a vacuum chamber and a variable pressure chamber, and a pressure control valve cooperable with the piston body for selectively communicating the variable pressure chamber to the vacuum chamber or the atmospheric air in response to movements of the piston body, wherein at least the rear housing shell is formed as a double or multi layer wall for the variable pressure chamber to dampen air suction noises caused by expansion and vibration of the air flowing through the valve into the variable pressure chamber from the passenger compartment in response to actuation of the brake booster assembly.

摘要: A brake booster includes a body having a central wall portion on which a, doughnut-shaped reinforcement plate is securely mounted, and bolts mounted on the reinforcement plate for fastening a master cylinder to the central wall portion. The reinforcement plate has an annular ridge extending along an inner peripheral edge thereof and projecting against the reinforcement plate. The master cylinder includes a flange mounted on the body and having an inner peripheral portion held against the central wall portion of the body in axial alignment with the annular ridge, and an outer peripheral portion spaced from the central wall portion by a distance such that the outer peripheral portion of the flange will not be forced into contact with the central wall portion when the master cylinder is actuated for braking action. Therefore, no localized forces are applied by the outer peripheral portion of the flange to the central wall portion of the body. The reinforcement plate held in intimate contact with the central wall portion serves to distribute forces fully over the central wall portion, which is less subjected to concentrated stresses and hence can be of a reduced thickness.

摘要: A hand brake lever assembly includes a plunger mounted on a support for axial slidable movement and for rotation about its axis and being connected at its one end to a parking brake, a locking mechanism associated with the plunger to retain the plunger in a pulled out position against a returning effort of the parking brake acting thereon and being arranged to be released by rotation of the plunger, a sleeve member secured to the other end of the plunger and having an annular end wall formed with a first annular cam surface and an axial key groove, a handle having a shaft extending therefrom and inserted into the sleeve member, the handle shaft being formed with an axial guide groove and being integrally provided with a cam member which is formed with a second annular cam surface complementary with the first cam surface and is axially slidably coupled within the sleeve member, a first spring for pressing the annular cam surfaces in contact with each other, a release rod axially slidably coupled with the guide groove for rotation with the handle, the release rod being formed at its one end with a key to be brought into engagement with the axial key groove and being provided at its other end with a knob, and a second spring for biasing the knob toward the plunger to disengage the key of the release rod from the axial key groove of the sleeve member.

To this end, a passage 45 communicating directly with the atmosphere is provided between the internal surface of a sliding cylindrical portion 8b of a valve piston 8 and the external surface of a silencer 27, and the atmospheric air is enabled to be admitted from the passage 45 to a variable pressure chamber 6 directly without passing through the silencer 27 when an input member is advanced beyond a predetermined distance relative to the valve piston.

摘要: In a vacuum type brake booster, the reaction of output transmitted from an output shaft to a reaction member is transmitted to a valve body, a plunger, and a stepped pin. A valve mechanism, which is assembled to an axial hole of the valve body, includes an atmospheric valve seat which advances and retreats together with the plunger, a vacuum valve seat assembled to the valve body to advance and retreat, and a valve member having an atmospheric valve portion which forms an atmospheric valve in cooperation with the atmospheric valve seat and a vacuum valve portion which forms a vacuum valve in cooperation with the vacuum valve seat. The stepped pin is pushed rearward when a corresponding portion of the rear surface of the reaction member deforms and bulges rearward, and pushes the vacuum valve seat rearward in relation to the valve body.

摘要: A negative pressure type booster device possesses a valve mechanism constructed to compensate for insufficient depressing force applied to a brake pedal upon emergency braking. Upon depression of the brake pedal, first negative pressure valves contact first negative pressure valve seats to block a variable pressure chamber from communication with a constant pressure chamber, and an atmosphere valve seat is separated from an atmosphere valve to communicate the variable pressure chamber with atmosphere. A partition member thus moves forwards depending on the pressure difference between the chambers to output a propelling force from an output rod. When the brake pedal is stepped on quickly, a valve member is urged backwards by a spring member causing second negative pressure valve seats to contact second negative pressure valves and move the valve member backwards. The atmosphere valve separates from the atmosphere valve seat, and the variable pressure chamber quickly communicates with atmosphere.

摘要: A negative pressure type booster includes a power piston, a slide valve, and a holding mechanism, among others, and assists a driver during emergency braking. The holding mechanism is adapted to hold the slide valve at a predetermined frontward position, and includes a latch member that is mounted to the power piston in such a manner as to be linearly movable in a radial direction, and a garter spring for biasing the latch member radially inward. The latch member has a hook that can be engaged with and disengaged from a hook provided on the slide valve. When a plunger moves frontward relative to the power piston by a quantity greater than a predetermined value, a push slope provided on the plunger pushes a passive slope provided on the latch member radially outward, whereby the hook of the latch member is disengaged from the hook of the slide valve.
