Abstract: A method, an apparatus and a corresponding electronic device for dynamically providing perceptible feedback for a rotary control component of an electronic device are provided. An operation on the rotary control component is detected. An initial value of the rotary control component is synchronized with a software control value of the electronic device. A variation value corresponding to the operation is identified. It is determined that the initial value and the variation value meet a feedback condition. Perceptible feedback is provided through a feedback component of the electronic device.

Abstract: Examples are disclosed that relate to electronically functional yarns. One example provides an electronically functional yarn comprising a core, a sheath at least partially surrounding the core, and an electronic circuit formed on the core. The circuit includes three or more control lines and more than three diode-containing circuit elements controllable by the three or more control lines, each circuit element being controllable via a corresponding set of two of the three or more control lines.

Abstract: Touchscreen computing devices are often assembled by applying an adhesive to an interface perimeter between a cover glass and a chassis. Occasionally, a device is de-bonded to troubleshoot errors in the functionality of the device. The adhesive often is resistant to releasing the bond between the cover glass and a chassis by mechanical force and the cover glass may be damaged during disassembly. Passive and/or active de-bonding aids facilitate transfer of thermal energy to the adhesive in a manner that avoids or minimizes the transfer of thermal energy to heat-sensitive components of the device.

Abstract: Examples are disclosed that relate to screen printing liquid metal materials. One example provides a method to deposit a metal pattern onto a substrate. The method includes placing a textile over the substrate, the textile having a plurality of pores wettable by a liquid metal. The method further includes forcing the liquid metal through the pores of the textile and onto the substrate, and separating the substrate and textile.

Abstract: Examples for force-sensing elements are disclosed. An example method for forming a force sensor includes printing a suspension of a hollow-sphere conductive polymer in a liquid carrier over an electrode pair on a substrate, evaporating the liquid carrier, and encapsulating the electrode pair and hollow-sphere conductive polymer to form a force sensor.

Abstract: An electronic device comprises a haptic feedback system. The haptic feedback system includes a first haptic actuator coupled to a controller via a first set of two or more electrodes, and a second haptic actuator coupled to the first haptic actuator, and further coupled to the controller via a second set of two or more electrodes. The controller is configured to provide a first drive signal to the first haptic actuator via the first set of two or more electrodes, and to provide a second drive signal, different from the first drive signal, to the second haptic actuator via the second set of two or more electrodes. Combining two haptic actuators allows for a broader range of feedback and a heightened user experience.
