    摘要: A method of providing connectivity settings to a terminal device includes the steps of:(i) detecting an indication about the terminal device being at a detected location other than an expected home location for the terminal device; and (ii) sending connectivity settings to the terminal device which are appropriate to the detected location. In one variant of the invention, detection occurs as a result of a travel plan notification that the terminal device is planned to be away from the home location. In another variant, detection occurs by determining that the terminal device is, in fact, away from the home location.

Data blocks are transmitted from a mobile station to a radio resource entity during a first active data transfer period using an uplink temporary block flow (TBF) connection. The uplink TBF connection is maintained during a passive period that follows the first active data transfer period, wherein during the passive period the mobile station does not send data blocks to the radio resource entity.

    摘要: The invention relates to arranging the transmission of packets between a mobile communication device and a mobile communication network. At least one temporary block flow is set up, and data is transmitted in packets in packet data traffic channels in a first direction from the mobile communication device to the mobile communication network. At the end of the transmission, information about the end of the block flow is set in the last packet, wherein the receiver of the packets acknowledges packet reception. After the end of the transmission of packets in said first direction, a determined time is waited until an acknowledgement is transmitted. If, while waiting, the mobile communication network detects a need for transmission of packets in the second direction from the mobile communication network to the mobile communication device, at least one packet data traffic channel is set up for data transmission in said second direction.

    摘要: The invention relates generally to a method and an arrangement for transferring information in a packet radio service. Especially the invention applies to transferring delay sensitive data, such as speech and video data, in a mobile cellular telecommunications system. It is an object of this invention to provide a solution, in which the physical connection of a packet radio service is kept reserved also during the passive periods of a session but the same physical resource can still be shared between multiple users. In the present solution after the end of an active period of data transmission a predetermined time period is waited until the connection is released. The length of the time period is informed to the mobile station by the network on a dedicated or on a broadcast channel. The length of the time period is preferably made dependent on the required quality of service value of the connection and on the momentary communication activity in the network or cell.
