    摘要: A short circuit connector has male and female connector housings 10,20, one of which has a short circuit terminal 30 and the other of which has an insertion member 16. In the disconnected state the short circuit terminal 30 electrically connects two terminals of one housing, whilst in the connected state the short circuit terminal 30 is disengaged by the insertion member 16. The insertion member does not directly separate the contact area of the terminals. In a second aspect the connector includes a retainer 117 which has retention projections 124,127 engageable in the chamber of the short circuit terminal; separate engagement recesses are thereby avoided.

    摘要: To prevent deformation of lock portions and make a block connector smaller a dovetail-shaped lock groove 21 is formed at a front end of the upper surface of the lower housing 2 over the entire width, and a dovetail-shaped lock rib 22 which can be pressed into the lock groove 21 is formed on the lower surface of the upper housing 1. The lock rib 22 is divided into three divided ribs with clearances therebetween, and the projecting heights of the divided ribs differ. The lock groove 21 is formed to have a stepped shape. Recesses 32 which form jig insertion holes are so formed as to conform to the clearances of the lock rib 22. A rear locking mechanism is such that lock projections 30 are fitted into lock holes 29, and is relatively easily unlockable by rotating the front end of the upper housing 1. When the front ends of the upper and lower housings 1, 2 are disengaged by inserting a disengagement jig into the jig insertion hole, the lock rib 22 comes out of the lock groove while being guided by slanted side surfaces. If the front end of the upper housing 1 is subsequently rotated, the rear lock portion is also unlocked.

    摘要: A connector in which the deformation of lock portions is prevented, and the connector can have a compact design, and housings are prevented from being displaced with respect to each other in both longitudinal and transverse directions. Transverse grooves of a dovetail shape are formed respectively in widthwise opposite ends of an upper surface of a lower housing at a front end portion thereof, and longitudinal grooves of a dovetail shape are formed in a widthwise central portion of this upper surface. Transverse ribs of a dovetail shape are formed respectively at widthwise opposite ends of a lower surface of an upper housing at a front end portion thereof, and longitudinal grooves of a dovetail shape are formed on a widthwise central portion of this lower surface. The transverse ribs are greater in projecting height than the longitudinal ribs. When the ribs are press-fitted respectively into the associated grooves, the two housings are locked together. When an external force of above a predetermined level is applied so as to separate the two housings from each other, the ribs are withdrawn respectively from the grooves, thereby disconnecting the two housings from each other.

    摘要: An electrical terminal has inwardly directed blades (21,22) to cut through insulation and make contact with an electrical core wire. Two sets of axially spaced blades are provided to increase security. The front set of blades (21) is bent in from opposite sides whereas the rear set is bent up from the base. This configuration gives a short terminal length without risk of deformation when the usual wire barrels (13) are crimped.

    摘要: The electrode holding portion is formed of band metal bent round into an annular shape, and a pair of lugs are formed at the ends of the holding portion. At the free end of one lug, a stopper is formed by being squarely bent toward the facing lug. Additionally, beside the flanges formed protruding outward from the top rim ranging from the electrode holding portion to the lugs and also along the bottom rim of the lug, reinforcement pieces are formed along the top and bottom rims of the stopper continuously respectively ranging from the flanges. Since deformation of the stopper is prevented by the reinforcement pieces, the deformation of the electrode holding portion due to excessive diametric reduction is surely prevented.

The terminal fitting (10) also has an extending portion (33) projecting out from an end edge of the rectangular tube portion (11) in a developed state before being bent and arranged at an outer side of the resilient contact (18) after being bent. The excessive deformation preventing portion (41) is formed by bending a part of the extending portion (33) into the interior of the rectangular tube (11).

The retainer (50) includes two arms (52) projecting substantially in parallel with a mounting direction into the housing (20) and a connecting portion (51) connecting base ends of the arms (52) with each other. Locks (55) are formed on the inner surfaces of the both arm portions (52) and are engageable with full locking portions (37) formed on outer surfaces of the housing (20). The retainer (50) is held at a full locking position by the engagement of the locks (55) with the full locking portions (37). Leading end surfaces of the arms (52) in a projecting direction serve as exposure surfaces (63) exposed to the outside when the retainer (50) is held at the full locking position.
