摘要:
A data track searching device capable of switching between two modes; one being the rough searching mode in which a transducer is displaced at a high velocity to a desired track and the other being the fine searching mode which follows the rough searching mode and in which the transducer is displaced at a relative low velocity and positioned over the proper or desired track. The operating point of a tracking element is shifted or deviated as a result of the high-velocity displacement of the transducer in the rough searching mode so that stable searching cannot be ensured. According to the present invention, therefore, the acceleration of the transducer in the rough searching mode is detected and a signal representative of the thus detected acceleration is applied to the tracking element so that the shift or deviation of the operating point of the tracking element can substantially made nil.

A system for recording or reproducing a signal by focusing and irradiating a light beam on a record carrier from a light source while controlling the light beam to always scan the track on the record carrier is disclosed. A track jump that may occur during recording or reproducing a signal on the record carrier is accurately detected. The reliability of the system is thus improved in such a way as to take appropriate action in case of a track jump.

An optical disc includes a reflective film formed on concave and convex marks after the concave and convex marks are synchronized with the integral multiple of a channel bit length and formed in accordance with modulated main information. Thereafter, continuous or intermittent laser light synchronized with the integral multiple of the channel bit length is irradiated at intervals longer than the longest one of the concave and convex marks in accordance with a spiral track formed in a circumferential direction of the concave and convex marks, whereby an optical characteristic of the reflective film is changed to form a recordable mark and sub-information necessary to reproduce the main information is recorded in a superimposition manner.

Disclosed is an optical disk barcode forming method wherein, as information to be barcoded, position information for piracy prevention, which is a form of ID, is coded as a barcode and is recorded by laser trimming on a reflective film in a PCA area of an optical disk. When playing back the thus manufactured optical disk on a reproduction apparatus, the barcode data can be played back using the same optical pickup.
摘要:
An optical disk is provided for recording data of a signal modulated according to a predetermined modulation method in a form of concavo-convex pits. The optical disk includes a first area having a reflecting film partly removed, and a second area for recording pits which are different from pits satisfying requirements of the predetermined modulation method. The first area having the reflecting film partly removed includes a portion which is formed by removing the reflecting film, and has a length longer than a maximum pit length determined by the modulation method in a circumferential direction of the optical disk. When the pits recorded on the optical disk are physically copied as they are, physical copying of the optical disk can be prevented by utilizing such a difference that the authorized optical disk differs from a pirated copy in a combination of the respective reproduced signals of the first and second areas.

A barcode is formed on an optical disk. The optical disk is provided with a control data area and an identifier for indicating the presence or absence of the barcode in the control data area. A beam pattern if focused on a reflective film of the optical disk in an information signal region on which the data is recorded. Information is provided for making the barcode. The information is PE-modulated so that a width of a mark of the barcode is half or less than a period of the barcode marks. The optical disk is rotated to form the barcode.

An optical disk includes a first area where data is recorded with pit pattern, a second information area where another data is recorded with marks which have a stripe-like configuration, and a guard band area formed between the first information area and the second information area. An address is written with pit pattern on the guard band area.

摘要:
In a first optical disk, a plurality of sets of bit information record cells, each cell including a plurality of bit information record cells, and a plurality of clock marks are formed along a track line on a substrate, and the bit information record cells are formed for example as pits, wherein the recording or reading of a bit of information to or from the bit information record cells is effected with a laser head. The information record cells are arranged at mutual intervals smaller than the minimum read distance of the laser head, while the clock marks are provided so as to have a distance from a set of bit information record cell which is larger than the minimum read distance of the laser head so that the clock marks can be recognized by the laser head to be used for synchronization. Then, the recording density can be improved. In a second optical disk, track recognition marks are arranged as d spiral at equiangular distances so that there are an odd number of track recognition marks per track unit. Thus, even if the track pitch is on the order of the minimum read distance, the distance between adjacent wobble marks becomes is about double the minimum read distance so that the wobble marks can be recognized independently for tracking error detection.
