Abstract: An electric heating support includes an electrically conductive honeycomb structure having an outer peripheral wall and porous partition walls disposed on an inner side of the outer peripheral wall, the porous partition walls defining a plurality of cells, each cell penetrating from one end face to other end face to form a flow path. A pair of metal terminals are disposed so as to face each other across a central axis of the honeycomb structure, each metal terminal being joined to a surface of the honeycomb structure via a welded portion. The honeycomb structure is composed of ceramics and a metal. The honeycomb structure contains 40% by volume or less of the metal. The welded portion of the honeycomb structure has a surface containing 40% by volume or more of the metal.

Abstract: A support for an electric heating type catalyst includes: a honeycomb structure having: porous partition walls extending through the honeycomb structure from an inflow end face to an outflow end face to define a plurality of cells forming a through channel; and an outer peripheral wall located at the outermost periphery; a pair of electrode layers disposed on the outer peripheral wall of the honeycomb structure; and a pair of electrode portions. Each of the electrode layers is formed in a strip shape extending in an extending direction of the cell of the honeycomb structure. In a cross section orthogonal to the extending direction of the cell, one electrode layer of the pair of electrode layers is disposed on a side opposite to the other electrode layer across a center of the honeycomb structure. Each of the electrode layers is electrically connected to each of the electrode portions via two or more base layers, and the base layers have conductivity and are spaced apart from each other. Each of the electrode portions includes two or more electrodes, and each of the electrodes is fixed to outer surfaces of the base layers.

Abstract: An ozone generator includes a transformer, a direct current power supply unit connected to a primary side of the transformer, a reactor connected to a secondary side of the transformer, a semiconductor switch connected between one end of a primary winding of the transformer and the direct current power supply unit, and a control circuit for implementing ON-OFF control of the semiconductor switch at a set switching frequency to thereby apply a voltage to the reactor. The interior of the reactor is set to conditions for making it easy to generate an electric discharge therein.

Abstract: An ozone generator includes a transformer, a direct current power supply unit connected to a primary side of the transformer, a reactor connected to a secondary side of the transformer, a semiconductor switch connected between at least one end of a primary winding of the transformer and the direct current power supply unit, and a control circuit for implementing ON-OFF control of the semiconductor switch to thereby apply alternating current voltage to the reactor. The control circuit implements control of a frequency of the alternating current voltage applied to the reactor, so as to minimize electric signal on the primary side of the transformer.
