    摘要: A printing system which uses a single layer printing member coated on to a cylinder is provided. For waterless offset application, the single layer printing member consists of an oleophobic imaging layer containing an oleophobic resin, coated on an oleophillic cylinder. For wet application, the single layer may either be hydrophilic, coated on a oleophillic cylinder; or vice versa. The single layer printing member is composed of a resin having either oleophobic, hydrophilic or oleophillic properties, to which an infra red absorbing component or components may be added.

    摘要: Negative-Working Lithographic Printing Plate Precursors can be provided with desired contrast coloration after imaging using a coloring fluid that includes a water-insoluble colorant that is soluble in a water-insoluble fatty alcohol. The coloring fluid provides an optical density change in the exposed regions of at least OD2 that is greater than the original optical density of those regions, OD1. The coloring fluid can be applied immediately after imaging and before processing, or it can be applied as part of the developer or processing solution, or it can be applied after processing. The coloring fluid can also be applied to imaged precursors that are designed for either off-press or on-press development.

    摘要: A laser imageable flexographic printing plate precursor comprises a thermoset elastomeric upper layer that is at least partially ablatable and comprises a radiation sensitive compound, and a non-ablatable elastomeric underlayer. This flexographic printing plate precursor can be imaged to provide a printing plate that is primarily useful for “high quality” printing because the resulting relief image is generally not greater than 600 μm and has an extremely even “floor”. The imaged flexographic printing plate also can have a high visual contrast between the imaged areas and the non-imaged background areas.

    摘要: A blank printed circuit board (10), for creating a circuit pattern thereon by direct imaging with infrared radiation. The blank printed circuit board (10) includes in sequence an insulating substrate (20), a metal layer (21), a resist layer (22) and a mask layer (23). The resist layer (22) has been deposited from an organic solution, has a thickness of between 3 microns and 30 microns and includes three components: a first component, constituting 35% to 75% of the layer by weight and including acrylic monomers and oligomers, capable of polymerising when and where irradiated by ultraviolet radiation in the presence of photoinitiators, such polymerisation constituting curing of respective portions of the resist layer, a second component, constituting up to 10% of the layer by weight and including photoinitiators and synergists; and the third component, constituting 10% to 50% of the layer by weight and including binder resins that are soluble in water or in dilute aqueous alkali solvents, as well as nonalkali solvents. The mask layer (23) has been deposited from an aqueous suspension which has a thickness of between 0.3 microns and 6 microns, and includes between 80% and 100% by weight of carbon black and not more than 10% by weight of binder resins.

The resultant inked image is then fixed, such that it can not be smeared, smudged or distorted on the substrate, by placing a coating over at least the image. This method is also designed for use with offset printing equipment, and thus, eliminates problems associated with drying and set-off of the ink jet ink, permitting such a machine to include an ink jet head, and to be run to produce impressions at normal offset press speeds.
