摘要: A glenoid component for use in shoulder arthroplasty, the glenoid component is adapted to be implanted into a scapula and engaged by a head of a humeral component. The glenoid component has a body with an exterior periphery which is supported by surrounding bone. The glenoid component further has a bearing surface that is congruent with the natural bearing surface of the adjacent bone. A method of implantation of a glenoid prosthesis is further provided which reduces the damage to adjacent soft tissue materials.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a kit of prosthetic components having at least two monolithic adaptors. The first adaptor incorporates a first and a second coupling mechanism, where the height of the first coupling mechanism defines the distance between an articulating surface and a fixture. The second monolithic adaptor also includes a third and a fourth coupling mechanism. The height of the third coupling mechanism can also define the distance between the articulating surface and the fixture. The coupling mechanisms, that define the distance between the articulating surface and the fixture, do not have equal heights.

摘要: A method for using a jig to position an implant at an implantation site of a bone. The method includes the following: tapping the implantation site using a tapping device; axially threading the jig into the implantation site using an insertion tool; adjusting the position of the jig at the implantation site as necessary by axially rotating the jig relative to the bone; axially and substantially non-rotationally inserting the implant through the jig whereby the implant contacts a substantially smooth interior surface of the jig to support the implant at the implantation site such that the implant does not substantially contact an interior surface of the bone canal at the implantation site; and securing the implant at the implantation site using bone cement.

摘要: A bone fixation assembly can include a suture button, a bone plate, and a suture assembly. The suture button can include a body that has a first end surface, a second end surface, and a circumferential outer surface. A first pair of passages can be formed through the body from the first end surface to the second end surface. The circumferential outer surface can include at least one protrusion or retaining rib extending radially therefrom. The bone plate defines an aperture. The suture button is configured to be at least partially received into the aperture in an assembled position such that the retaining rib engages the bone plate and inhibits withdrawal of the suture button from the aperture in the assembled position. The suture assembly includes a suture engaging member and a suture configured to couple the suture engaging member in the suture button.

摘要: A bone reamer includes a first member having a first hub and a second member having a second hub. The first hub can extend along a first axis and have a pair of elongated cutting arms that are fixed to the first hub. The elongated cutting arms can extend along a second axis that is generally perpendicular relative to the first axis. The first hub can define a track thereon. The second hub can extend along a third axis. The second member can have a second pair of elongated cutting arms that are fixed to the second hub and extend along a fourth axis that is generally perpendicular to the third axis. The second member can have a track follower extending thereon and that is configured to slideably advance along the track causing the first and second members to move between a collapsed position and an expanded position.
