    摘要: A hydraulically controlled fan drive system for controlling the cooling of an engine and having a method of engagement includes a housing assembly containing a hydraulic fluid and an engaging circuit. The engaging circuit includes a pitot tube coupled within the housing assembly that receives at least a portion of the hydraulic fluid as the housing assembly rotates to drive a clutch pack (and coupled fan) via static pressure. A fluid controller having binary control adjusts the static pressure within the pitot tube at a given rotational speed, thereby controlling the engagement of the clutch pack to a fully engaged drive (utilizing friction type engagement), a fully disengaged drive, and at least two partially engaged clutch positions (i.e. partially engaged utilizing a wet viscous type clutch engagement). To control static pressure release, the fluid controller may utilize a dual spool system valving arrangement or a parallel fixed orifice binary control.

    摘要: A novel impeller for a regenerative turbine fuel includes a hub and a plurality of V-shaped vanes that project radially outward. The hub defines an aperture into which the shaft of the pump is securable. Each V-shaped vane includes a pair of fin members. Each fin member has an inner sidewall and an outer sidewall. The fin members of each vane are adjoined by their inner sidewalls. From their adjoined inner sidewalls, the fin members of each vane diverge to their respective outer sidewalls. In particular, the fin members of each vane diverge at a prespecified angle relative to a plane that lies normal to the center axis and also bisects the hub. Along at least part of its length, the trailing corner of each outer sidewall of each V-shaped vane is chamfered. The chamfer is made at a predetermined angle relative to the aforementioned plane.

    摘要: Stable emulsions of water-insoluble organic pesticides are formed by mixing the pesticide with an aqueous dispersion of a graft copolymer comprising a reactive polymeric surfactant base polymer and a nonionic hydrophobic grafted composition. The graft copolymer spontaneously absorbs organic pesticides with low water solubility upon simple mixing. The resulting product is much more stable to coalescence than emulsions made with conventional or polymeric surfactants.Emulsifiable organic based concentrates, having a continuous oil phase, which are formed from admixtures of pesticidally active water-insoluble organic pesticides with graft copolymers can be diluted with or in water, thus, inverting the continuous oil phase to stable water based oil-in-water emulsions of the active pesticide.
