    Abstract: An ophthalmic visualization system can include an imaging device configured to acquire images of a surgical field; a computing device configured to determine an area of interest based on the images; and a display device in communication with the computing device and a surgical microscope, wherein the display device is configured to provide a graphical overlay onto at least a portion of a field of view of the surgical microscope, and wherein the graphical overlay includes a magnified image of the area of interest. A method of visualizing an ophthalmic procedure can include receiving images of a surgical field acquired by an imaging device; identifying an area of interest; generating a graphical overlay including a magnified image of the area of the interest; and outputting the graphical overlay to a display device such that the graphical overlay is positioned over a field of view of a surgical microscope.

    Abstract: An optical scanning probe comprises a handle to receive a light beam from a light guide; a cannula, extending from a distal end of the handle; a fiber, positioned partially inside the handle and partially inside the cannula, to guide the received light beam toward a distal end of the cannula; a rotating scanner, rotatably positioned at least partially inside the cannula and configured to house a proximal portion of the fiber; and a deflecting scanner, movably coupled to a distal end of the rotating scanner, configured to deflect a distal portion of the fiber, wherein the distal portion of the fiber is configured to emit and scan the guided light in a target region.

    Abstract: An ophthalmic surgical microscope includes a beam coupler positioned along an optical path of the surgical microscope between a first eyepiece and magnifying/focusing optics, the beam coupler operable to direct the OCT imaging beam along a first portion of the optical path of the surgical microscope between the beam coupler and a patient's eye (an OCT image being generated based on a reflected portion of the OCT imaging beam). The surgical microscope additionally includes a real-time data projection unit operable to project the OCT image generated by the OCT system and a beam splitter positioned along the optical path of the surgical microscope between a second eyepiece and the magnifying/focusing optics. The beam splitter is operable to direct the projected OCT image along a second portion of the optical path of the surgical microscope between the beam splitter and the second eyepiece such that the projected OCT image is viewable through the second eyepiece.
