摘要： A plain bearing has two components, each having a bearing surface; the bearing surfaces being in sliding engagement with each other. The bearing may be a spherical plain bearing having an outer ring that has a concave bearing surface and an inner ring that has a convex bearing surface. One of the bearing surfaces comprises a layer comprising tungsten carbide. One component may have spaced-apart seating surfaces for engaging a moving structure and a generally concave interior that includes an internal rib between the seating surfaces. A spherical plain bearing can be made by providing an outer ring and an inner ring includes an internal rib, and disposing the outer ring around the inner ring with the convex bearing surface engaging the concave bearing surface. The bearing may be used in a swashplate assembly.

摘要： A self-lubricating bearing assembly for a hinge of a turbine engine nozzle is described. The hinge includes a bolt and a bell crank housing. The bearing assembly includes a sleeve, a pair of bushings, liners, a thrust washer and a nut. The sleeve includes a tubular and a shoulder portion. Each bushing has an inner and an outer diameter. The liners include first liners, each bonded to the inner diameter of a respective one of the bushings, a second liner disposed between the shoulder portion and a bushing, and a third liner disposed between the thrust washer and a bushing. When assembled, the tubular portion is disposed over an outer diameter of the bolt, the outer diameters of the bushings are disposed within an inner diameter of the bell crank housing, and the nut is affixed between the thrust washer and the bolt to secure the hinge assembly.

In a general case, the personal region of interest is computed as a function of the user's level of disposition towards the searched-for points of interest. The level of disposition towards the searched-for points of interest may, in turn, be based on two or more of the user's location, the current date and time, a history of the user's interaction with the POI-searching system, including user-initiated searches and user selections from displayed search results, a user profile developed for, and continuously updated on behalf of, the user, and a current context for the search, as specified by a search query or by other context-specifying means. The personal region of interest generally defines an abstract area, volume, or hypervolume within which method and system embodiments of the present invention search for points of interest.

A cooperating ledge is formed on the head in the cavity and on the pawl which is adjacent to the reversing lever. A spring-loaded pusher is disposed longitudinally in a blind bore in the reversing lever and the pusher engages a pocket in the pawl. A cover plate is disposed on a shelf recessed on the bottom of the wrench and spaced apart from the reversing lever.

The pawl defines a plurality of teeth facing the gear, and the pawl teeth define a second arc having a second radius larger than the first radius.

摘要： A multilayer ceramic carrier for an optical element includes a terraced cavity for retaining a vertically receiving or vertically emitting optical element. The multilayer ceramic carrier includes conductive traces interposed between the ceramic layers and which extend into the terraced cavity along the trenches formed in the cavity. A vertical cavity surface emitting laser or vertically receiving optical element is wire bonded to the conductive traces which extend into the cavity. In one embodiment, the terraced cavity of the multilayer ceramic carrier includes a VCSEL and photodetector therein, the photodetector capable of monitoring the output optical power of the VCSEL. The method for forming the multilayer ceramic carrier includes forming a plurality of layers of ceramic tape, joining the layers, then co-firing the stacked layers. The multilayer ceramic carrier is joined to a plastic optical housing which includes an aperture for securing an optical fiber. The fiber launch direction is generally orthogonal to the optical surface of the vertically emitting or vertically receiving optical element secured within the ceramic carrier. The optical subassembly comprising the plastic optical housing and ceramic carrier is mounted on the surface of a printed circuit board or adjacent the edge of a printed circuit board, such that the light emitted or detected by the optical element, preferably travels along a fiber launch direction parallel to the surface of the printed circuit board. The optical assembly may be joined to the printed circuit board using various connectors capable of carrying an electrical signal.

摘要： The invention describes a polymerase chain reaction container and methods of using the same that greatly simplify and improve the polymerase chain reaction. Specifically, the invention describes a PCR container comprising a container suitable for PCR with wax attached to the inside surface of the container. The wax is positioned at or above an estimated meniscus position of a PCR mixture. The wax melts at PCR temperatures and covers the surface of the PCR mixture thereby prevents evaporation during thermal cycling. The invention is superior to current methods, in part, because it reduces preparation time, potential sources of contamination and adverse effects on PCR.
