    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for user equipment (UE) initiated enhanced connected discontinuous reception (C-DRX) commands. An example method, performed at a user equipment (UE), generally includes receiving first signaling configuring the UE for an enhanced connected discontinuous reception (C-DRX) mode, and transmitting a request for the UE to enter a low power state during a current C-DRX cycle prior to expiration of at least one of an on duration timer or inactivity timer, wherein the request proposes the UE remain in the low power state for a first number of one or more future C-DRX cycles.

    Abstract: A method for wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes transmitting, to a first network, a first message comprising a first measurement gap configuration, a measurement gap reconfiguration, a selection from a measurement gap pool, or a measurement gap release. The method also includes receiving a second message, from the first network. The second message may configure a measurement gap, reconfigure a measurement gap, or release a measurement gap. The second message may also suspend data communication from the UE during a configured measurement gap. The method additionally includes suspending communication with the first network during the configured measurement gap. The communication may be suspended to save power, tune away for a multiple subscriber identity module (MSIM) of the UE, or measure a neighbor cell.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) reduces delays associated with inter-radio access technology (IRAT) measurements. In one instance, the UE determines whether a first signal quality of a serving cell, a second signal quality of an intra frequency neighbor cell of a serving RAT (radio access technology), and/or a third signal quality of an inter frequency neighbor cell of the serving RAT is below a first threshold. The UE also determines whether a fourth signal quality of at least one cell of a neighbor RAT is above a second threshold. The UE further allocates one or more measurement gaps for a synchronization channel decoding procedure for the neighbor RAT based at least in part on the determining whether the fourth signal quality is above the second threshold and determining whether the first, second, and/or third signal quality is below the first threshold.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) reduces handover failure when the UE is prematurely handed over to a target cell during a single radio-voice call continuity (SRVCC) procedure or when the target cell is unavailable. In one instance, the UE prevents handover of a packet-switched (PS) voice call from a serving cell of a PS radio access technology (RAT) to the target cell of a circuit-switched (CS) RAT after the UE sends a measurement report for the target cell but before receiving a handover command. The UE prevents the handover if the target cell becomes undesirable for handover and/or the serving cell becomes desirable for maintaining the PS voice call.

    Abstract: A measurement report may trigger a handover based on relative signal strengths of a serving cell and an intra/inter-RAT (radio access technology) neighbor cell. This may result in a UE being handed over to a weak cell and cause a voice call to drop. A method of wireless communication includes determining whether to delay sending an inter-RAT or an intra-RAT measurement report based in part on a current status of a call setup and whether the UE and a network support an inter-RAT handover while in the current status of the call setup. The measurement report is delayed for a predetermined time period based in part on the determination. The method also includes sending the measurement report when the predetermined time period expire and/or the current status of the call setup changes to a new status when both the UE and the network support the inter-RAT handover.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may reduce potential delay when attempting to return to a first radio access technology (RAT) after a circuit-switched fall back (CSFB) call releases at a second RAT. The UE may first determine its speed when the CSFB call releases. The UE then suspends a return to the first RAT without searching non-dedicated frequencies of the first RAT. This occurs when the UE speed is above a first predefined threshold and a signal quality of a dedicated frequency of the first RAT, included in a release message from a network of the second RAT or in a record of the UE, is below a second predetermined threshold. The UE may also search non-dedicated frequencies of the first RAT when the UE speed is below the first predefined threshold and the signal quality of the dedicated frequency of the first RAT is below the second predetermined threshold.
