摘要： A medical, electrically powered thermal cover for fitting predominantly the trunk and head of a person experiencing or potentially experiencing traumatic or cold-exposure hypothermia. The thermal cover encases all of the torso and neck, and portions of other body areas. Heating may be distinctly non-uniform, being applied to the body surface only in special regions where the body's capacity for heat uptake may be relatively high. In sum, the system may monitor deep body core temperature, direct heat to the body core where it may be most needed, and controls therapy over time to restore normothermia.

摘要： A patient care system is disclosed that includes a medical device such as an infusion pump. The medical device generates a data message containing information such as the status of the therapy being delivered, operating data or both. An alarm generating system assesses the data message from the pump and generates an alarm message if certain conditions established by a first set of rules are met. The alarm message is assessed according to a second set of rules as to whether to suppress the alarm message. The data message contains a required input for both the first and second algorithms. A dispatching system is adapted to forward the alarm message to an alarm destination according to a third set of rules. The alarm destination expresses an alarm upon receipt of the alarm message.

摘要： There is disclosed a method for producing a moulded plastic product having an outer skin and in inner core. The method is particularly suitable for making structural products such as panels or the like from recycled plastic material. The method comprises the steps of: providing a mould having a mould cavity; forming an outer skin from a first plastic material on at least two opposed surfaces inside the mould cavity; forming an inner core from a second plastic material inside the mould cavity; and at least partially curing the plastic materials to form a moulding inside the mould cavity via the application of heat. The method is characterised by the subsequent steps of (optionally pre-cooling the moulding and then) simultaneously cooling the moulding and compressing the moulding so as to reduce its size in at least one dimension to a desired dimension of the finished product.
