    Abstract: Provided is a collection of polymer particles comprising



    (I) a plurality of acrylic particles (I) each comprising

    (a) an acrylic core polymer (Ia) comprising

    (i) polymerized units of one or more monovinyl acrylic monomers (Iai),
    (ii) polymerized units of one or more Si-free graftlinkers (Iaii),


    (b) a shell polymer (Ib),


    (II) a plurality of hybrid polymer particles (II), each comprising

    (a) a core polymer (IIa) comprising

    (i) polymerized units of one or more silicon-containing monomers (IIai);
    (ii) optionally, polymerized units of one or more monovinyl acrylic monomers (IIaii); and
    (iii) polymerized units of one or more Si-free graftlinkers (IIaiii);


    (b) a shell polymer (IIb) comprising polymerized units of one or more acrylic monomers (IIb).

    Abstract: A composition comprising: a blended product of: a matrix polymer; and from 0.05 to 2.5 wt % diffuser polymer particles, wherein the diffuser polymer particles are characterized by an average diameter from 2 to 20 micrometers, a particle size distribution such that at least 90 wt % of the polymer particles fall within ±30% of the volume average particle size, a crosslinking level greater than 4%; and wherein the diffuser polymer particles comprise units derived from at least one alkyl(meth)acrylate monomer, from 5 wt % to 25 wt % units derived from a crosslinking monomer selected from the group consisting of aliphatic crosslinking monomers, aromatic crosslinking monomers and combinations thereof, optionally, units derived from one or more comonomers selected from the group consisting of aryl(meth)acrylate monomers and monovinyl arenes; and wherein from 0.1 to 20 wt % one or more performance additives dispersed within the diffuser polymer particles is provided.

    Abstract: Provided is a method of making a collection of polymer particles comprising (A) providing a dispersion (D1) of particles of core polymer (IIa) in an aqueous medium, wherein core polymer (IIa) comprises (i) polymerized units of one or more silicone monomers (IIai); (ii) optionally, polymerized units of one or more monovinyl acrylic monomers (IIaii); and (iii) polymerized units of one or more Si-free graftlinkers (IIaiii); wherein the dispersion (D1) comprises micelles of one or more surfactant, (B) producing a latex (L1) by performing an emulsion polymerization process (B) that produces particles of core polymer (Ia) dispersed in the aqueous medium, wherein latex (L1) comprises dispersed particles of core polymer (Ia) and dispersed particles of core polymer (IIa) in the aqueous medium, (C) producing a latex (L2) by performing an emulsion polymerization process (C) by a process comprising adding a monomer emulsion (E3) to latex (L1).

    Abstract: Provided is polymer particle comprising (a) 40% to 85% by weight, based on the dry weight of the polymer particle, a core polymer having Tg of −35° C. or lower; (b) 15% to 50% by weight, based on the dry weight of the polymer particle, an intermediate polymer having Tg that is 20° C. or lower and that is higher than the Tg of the core polymer by 10° C. or more; (c) 5% to 30% by weight, based on the dry weight of the polymer particle, a shell polymer having Tg of 50° C. or higher; wherein the shell polymer comprises polymerized units of all vinyl aromatic monomers in an amount of 1% or less, by weight based on the weight of the shell polymer.
