    摘要: An electrically insulating composition for bonding to metal and method for applying the composition in sheet form. The insulating composition comprises a polyolefin polymer adapted for elevated temperature crosslinking and a co-bonding agent mixed with the polyolefin polymer in an amount up to about 60 parts of tile co-bonding agent to 100 parts of the polyolefin polymer. Preferably, the insulating composition cures in contact with metal pre-heated to elevated temperatures in a range from about 140° C. to about 190° C. to provide a lap-shear bond strength between the electrically insulating composition and a metal substrate of from about 3.3 MPa to about 12 MPa.

    摘要: A cable has a conductor extending therefrom and a partially exposed fluid-containing layer surrounding the conductor. A connector is joined to an end of the conductor, and an electrically insulative, elastomeric tube is covers all of the exposed fluid-containing layer and a portion of the connector. The elastomeric tube is substantially impermeable to the fluid in the cable. For cables having more than one conductor, an additional elastomeric boot is installed over the cable.

    摘要: A cable end seal for a multiple-conductor oil filled cable includes an inner sealing boot adjacent the cable and filled with an oil restraint material for the temporary restraint of cable oil and an outer boot and cylindrical mold filled with hardenable material for the permanent containment of the cable oil. The inner boot and oil restraint material prevents contact between the oil and the material at least until the material has hardened.

    摘要: Provided is a composition having a halogen-free polymeric material, a halogen-free flame retardant, and a coupling agent. Also provided is a method of making a tape containing the steps of forming the previously recited composition into a backing; and applying an adhesive to a surface of the backing to form the tape. When the tape is tested using UL 510 (7th Ed.), it has at least one of the physical properties: an elongation at break of at least 60%; a tensile strength at break of at least 1500 psi; a dielectric strength of at least 1,000 V per mil of tape thickness; an average adhesion strength of at least 0.175 N/mm; and a retention of at least 90% of an original average dielectric strength after the tape is conditioned for 96 hours in air with a temperature of 23.0° C. and a relative humidity of 96%.
