A weight reduction rate ΔW0(%) when the thermal bonding sheet is analyzed in a nitrogen atmosphere at a temperature increase rate of 10° C./min from 23° C. to 400° C. with a differential thermal balance before the thermal bonding sheet is exposed to an atmosphere having a temperature of 23±2° C. and a humidity of 50±20%, and a weight reduction rate ΔW24(%) when the thermal bonding sheet is analyzed in a nitrogen atmosphere at a temperature increase rate of 10° C./min from 23° C. to 400° C. with a differential thermal balance after the thermal bonding sheet is exposed to an atmosphere having a temperature of 23±2° C. and a humidity of 50±20% for 24 hours, satisfy −1%≤ΔW0−ΔW24≤0.5%.

The structured layer comprises multiple microstructured elements that are opposite a major surface. The adhesive sealing layer has a first region and a second region. The first region with the barrier element and second region have sufficiently different properties to form a low refractive index layer between the adhesive sealing layer and the structured layer. The barrier element comprises a crosslinked polymeric matrix having a modulus of elasticity less than 4.4 GPa.

The pressure-sensitive adhesive of the invention reveals particularly good properties when combined with a foamed carrier.

The resin layer (A) contains: a norbornene-based resin (a1) that is a thermoplastic resin containing a structural unit derived from a norbornene-based compound; a styrene-based elastomer (a2); and an olefin-based thermoplastic resin (a3) other than the norbornene-based resin (a1) and other than the styrene-based elastomer (a2). The dicing sheet base film suppresses the occurrence of dicing debris, in particular filament-like dicing debris, during the dicing of a cut object without imparting physical energy such as electron rays and γ rays, and has sufficient expandability in the expanding process.

The method comprises: providing a film comprising pressure sensitive adhesive coated on a major surface thereof; heating the film to a softening point of the film; and pressing the film against a substrate with an application device, the application device comprising a film-contacting portion, the film-contacting portion comprising a foam material and having a thermal conductivity of less than 1.8 BTU/hr-in-ft2-° F.; wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive on the major surface of the film adheres to the substrate. Application devices and kits that may be used in conjunction with the method are also disclosed herein.
