摘要： Two or three fiber optic cables, each adapted for a particular purpose is provided in the insertion tube of an endoscope/borescope for illuminating an object to be viewed. The proximal end of the insertion tube is positioned adjacent a source of light. A device is provided for rotating the proximal end of the insertion tube to position one or more of the fiber optic bundles in optical alignment with the source of light to illuminate the object to be viewed with the desired light. Alternatively, an individual bundle can be illuminated by insertion in a proper receptacle in an interconnecting module positioned in optical alignment with a light source.

摘要： A video hysteroscope has an elongated flexible insertion tube containing a video imager head at its distal end, with a channel for a surgical laser fiber and a saline channel which emits a continuous stream of saline solution distally from the head. The articulation section is kept as short as possible, and is limited to a maximum deflection of about 30 degrees to match the geometry of the uterus.

摘要： A minority carrier isolation barrier in a body of semiconductor material is formed by the migration of a suitable metal-rich liquid zone of an impurity material through the semiconductor body. A thermal gradient zone melting process is practiced to produce a region of recrystallized semiconductor material of the body having solid solubility of an impurity therein to impart a level of minority carrier lifetime thereto which is different from that level of minority carrier lifetime of the body.
