摘要: Example embodiments disclosed herein relate to determining whether power is supplied at a power level to a network powered device. A network connector can be used to provide power and communications to the network powered device. The network powered device can represent itself to power sourcing equipment as a device using power at the power level. An indicator indicates whether power is supplied at the power level.

摘要: Embodiments herein relate to controlling a connection to an interface. In an embodiment, a protection circuit is to detect a voltage at an input rail of a regulator, where the regulator is to provide power to a peripheral device via an interface. Next, the protection circuit is to compare the detected voltage to a reference voltage. Then, the protection circuit is to generate a detection signal based on the comparison. Lastly, the protection circuit is to disable a connection between the regulator and the interface based on the detection signal.

摘要: A first resistance (125) within a power supply (110) can be connected to a power supply output (120). A variable resistance (130) can be serially coupled with the first resistance, thereby providing a first intermediate voltage at a point (115) disposed between the first resistance and the variable resistance. The variable resistance can be at a maximum in the absence of an expansion device (140) and at less than maximum in the presence of an expansion device. The first intermediate voltage and a second intermediate voltage (145) can be introduced to a comparator (150). The comparator can provide an output signal (170) when the first intermediate voltage exceeds the second intermediate voltage. The comparator output signal can be used to confirm the power supply capacity to power an external device (180) and to enable one or more external device functions.

摘要: An electronic device (100) includes a network interface controller (102) and an input/output controller (110, 202) having a link layer. A portion of the input/output controller is configured to be powered off during a lower power mode of the electronic device, where the first portion contains the link layer. Wakeup logic (108) separate from the input/output controller receives a wake indication from the network interface controller in response to the physical layer receiving a wake message on the network while the electronic device is in the lower power mode. The wakeup logic activates an indication to awaken the electronic device from the lower power mode in response to the wake indication from the network interface controller.
