摘要: An electrical generator has an engine that provides a mechanical output that is converted to electrical current by an alternator. The engine is started by a battery-powered motor starter. The battery is charged during running of the electrical generator by a portion of the electrical current output by the alternator. The battery is charged according to a charging profile based on the temperature of the battery at start up of the electrical generator.

摘要: A load control module is provided for use with a transfer switch apparatus that controls the delivery of standby electrical power to a load during utility power interruption. The load control module selectively brings loads online to receive standby electrical power to prevent overloading of the electric generator that is providing the standby electrical power. The frequency of the electrical power is also monitored and if a low frequency condition is detected, loads are taken offline (shed). A method to flag those loads that induce an overload condition is also provided.

摘要: A wireless annunciator for an electrical generator displays data regarding operation of the electrical generator to provide feedback to a remote observer regarding performance of the electrical generator in meeting the demands placed thereon. The wireless annunciator wirelessly receives transmissions from one or more wireless modules and displays information based on the data contained in the transmissions. The wireless modules may be associated with sensors, for example, that measure various performance parameters of the electrical generator, such as current draw, fuel level, fuel pressure, and the like. A load management controller can communicate with one or more load-side modules, either wirelessly or across wired links, to control operation of one or more loads to avoid overloading of the electrical generator.

摘要: A photometer for measuring electromagnetic radiation absorption of a sample utilizing a source of the electromagnetic radiation. Electromagnetic radiation is conducted from the source, to a sample sensor or sensors, and is passed through or scattered from, the sample utilizing a sample cell. The electromagnetic radiation is then directed to a detection system which determines absorbance of electromagnetic radiation by the sample at the sample cell. The detection system includes a beam splitter which receives the electromagnetic radiation and outputs first and second beams. A first detector having a first wavelength filter and a second detector having a second wavelength filter receives the two beams from the splitters. One detector may be employed to produce a reference signal. The remaining detector or detectors produce an output signal which is a representation of a characteristic, such as absorbance of the sample. The output signals are compared to a reference signal, and converted into a measurement of absorbance, transmission, reflectance, or turbidity.
