    摘要: What is disclosed is an image path that advantageously uses halftone classification to select appropriate mappings in gray-scale management and color management operations. The tags generated in the scanner help identify different classes of halftones. One is selected from several pixel-value mappings to provide proper compensation. That is, the one-dimensional and multi-dimensional pixel-value mappings within the color management module are selected based on halftone classification tags from the scanner. The tagging is either one bit that indicates “Low Frequency Halftone” and “Not LFHT”, or, more preferably, the tag is multi-bit indicating a frequency bin that contains the frequency of the input halftone. Additionally, the multi-bit tag can indicate particular halftone screen types, such as dot screens, line screens, stochastic screens or error diffusion. The pixel value mappings are typically implemented as Look-Up Tables (LUTs), and the LUTs of the present invention are optimized for the various halftone classes. Generation of the LUTs, or other pixel-value mappings, is non-trivial in that such mappings are normally applied to contone images and not to blurred halftoned images. The pixel-value mappings of the present invention are derived via an iterative process. Alternatively, a model for this modulated image type is used.

    摘要: A system and method for printer control and color balance calibration. The system and method address the image quality problems of print engine instability, low quality of color balance and contouring from the calibration. The method includes defining combinations of colorants, such as inks or toners that will be used to print images, defining a desired response for the combinations that are to be used and, in real time, iteratively printing CMY halftone color patches, measuring the printed patches via an in situ sensor and iteratively performing color-balance calibration based on the measurements, accumulating corrections until the measurements are within a predetermined proximity of the desired response. The calibration is performed on the halftones while they are in a high quantization resolution form.

    摘要: Described herein is a method of determining parking lot occupancy from digital images, including a set-up procedure that includes receiving a layout of a parking lot and estimating parking space volume for at least one viewing angle and the probability that an observed pixel belongs to the parking space volume. The method further includes acquiring one or more image frames of the parking lot from at least one digital camera; performing pixel classification using a vehicle detector on the acquired image frames to determine a likelihood that a pixel belongs to a vehicle; computing a probability that a parking space is occupied by a vehicle based on a spatially varying membership probability density function and a likelihood of vehicle pixels within a region of interest; and determining parking lot vacancy via a comparison of the computed probability that a parking space is occupied by a vehicle to a pre-determined threshold.

    摘要: Images are prepared for blending with a reflection. Angles of incidence and angles or reflection lead to reflections of a viewer appearing to be different than actual size. Accordingly, image preparation can include scaling images of objects to be blended with a reflection to an appropriate size. For a flat specular surface the size is one half the size the object would be if the object were sized to be associated with the feature that is reflected. A viewer will focus on the reflection of the viewer at an object plane. An image associated with the specular surface will be blurred. Accordingly, the preparation can include compensating for the blurring. Preparation can also include reducing an area coverage of the image of the object to no more than about fifty percent of the region of the refection to provide space for the reflection.

Each image frame includes pixel data representative of the target area. The method includes generating one or more motion vectors between two or more of the image frames. The motion vectors are the type produced by compressing the pixel data associated with the two or more image frames. The method includes associating a cluster of motion vectors with a vehicle. The method further includes tracking a position of the vehicle across the two or more image frames. Using the tracking results, the method includes determining whether the vehicle stops in the target area. For the vehicle being determined as not stopping, the method includes signaling an occurrence of noncompliance.
