Abstract:
Instrument for producing a sample of body liquid for analysis by piercing the skin with a lancing element having a skin piercing tip. The instrument has a housing and a lancing drive for driving a lancing element connected thereto in a puncturing movement. A pressure ring surrounds a skin contact opening and is adapted for pressing against the skin such that the skin bulges into the opening for promoting expression of body fluid. The skin contact opening has an opening area corresponding to a circle with a diameter of at least 3 mm and at most 8 mm, and the instrument comprises a pressing force control device for controlling the pressing force between the pressure ring and the skin at the time of triggering the puncturing movement, to be at least 3 N and at most 8 N.
Abstract:
A biosensor is proposed for insertion into the subcutaneous tissue of a user wherein the biosensor includes at least one flexible substrate (2) and at least one electrode (5) on at least one surface (9) of the substrate and at least one contacting element (3). The contacting element is connected to the electrode. The substrate has at least one kink (4), at which the substrate is at least partly kinked such that the surface is subdivided into at least two interconnected outer surfaces (9a, 9b, 9c).
Abstract:
A sensor insertion assembly comprising a sensor cartridge having an insertion needle and a sensor within a sterile capsule. The sensor insertion assembly further comprises an inserter comprising a chamber for receiving the sensor cartridge, wherein the inserter further comprises an insertion mechanism operable for actuating the insertion needle for inserting the sensor into a subject. The sensor cartridge is removable from the chamber. The sensor cartridge is operable for shielding the insertion needle upon removal of the sensor cartridge from the chamber.
Abstract:
A sensor cartridge comprising a sterile capsule. The sensor cartridge further comprises a sensor within the sterile capsule. The sensor cartridge further comprises a sensor connector connected to the sensor in an initial position. The sensor cartridge further comprises an insertion needle for inserting the sensor into a subject. The insertion needle is within the sterile capsule. The sensor cartridge further comprises a sensor mounting unit for receiving the sensor connector at a mounted position. The sensor mounting unit comprises an adhesive surface for attaching to an exterior surface of the subject. The sensor cartridge further comprises an insertion mechanism operable for actuating the insertion needle and moving the sensor connector from the initial position to the mounted position.
Abstract:
A device for performing at least one medical function on a user is proposed. The device has at least one medical functional element that is designed to perform the medical function. The medical function is selected from a diagnostic, a therapeutic and a surgical function. The device has at least one evaluation and control part that comprises at least one actuation component for controlling the medical function. The evaluation and control part has at least one casing and at least one battery receptacle. The battery receptacle comprises at least one electrical energy reservoir, more particularly at least one battery. The battery receptacle is designed to be opened irreversibly by the user for removing the energy reservoir.
