摘要: Bi-stable electrophoretic display device (1) having a normal mode and a scrolling mode, in which image transitions are effected by causing the charged particles (8,9) to toggle between the intermediate optical states (e.g. grey-to-grey) or between an extreme optical state and an intermediate optical state (e.g. white-to-light grey), with a corresponding short update time tscroll. When the device (1) enters a scrolling mode in response to a scrolling command from a user, picture elements are first driven to a special scrolling optical. state, after which drive waveforms for scrolling mode are used for fast toggling between two scrolling states. An increased scrolling speed and very short scrolling time can be realized, without adversely affecting image quality during a normal mode.

摘要: An image is updated on a bi-stable display (310) such as an electrophoretic display in a transition from a current image state to a subsequent image state. A voltage waveform (600, 620, 640, 660; 700, 720, 740, 760) is selected based on the current and subsequent image states, and a previous image state. The bi-stable display (310) is driven from the current image state to the subsequent image state using the selected voltage waveform. For a given transition from the current to the next image state, different waveforms are stored for different previous states, e.g., black, dark grey, light grey and white. The different waveforms may have different drive pulse (DR) or reset pulse (RE1, RE2) energies. In a trial and error optimization process, different waveforms with different reset and/or drive pulse energies are tested for different previous image states to see which waveform yields the smallest greyscale error.

摘要: A tamper protection system (1) for preventing theft of cargo comprising a flexible cover sheet (3) for covering said cargo ; a first set of electrically conductive wires (5) distributed along the flexible cover sheet; and a measurement and processing circuitry (6). The measurement and processing circuitry is configured to measure a first measured value (V1) indicative of a first compound electrical resistance (R1) of the first set of electrically conductive wires; determine a first difference (ΔV1) between the first measured value and a first reference value (V1ref); and if the first difference is below a predetermined first threshold value, adjust the first reference value based on the first measured value; otherwise, provide a signal indicative of the first threshold value being exceeded. The tamper protection system in accordance with the present invention hence provides the ability to distinguish between conditions justifying triggering of an alert and conditions falsely giving such an indication.
