摘要: The invention provides a method of joining dissimilar materials, such as aluminum to steel, by applying low pressure and heat to minimize distortion of the materials and the heat affected zone. The method includes applying current to a weld element, at least partially melting a portion of the first material with the heated weld element, and passing through the at least partially melted portion of the first material with the weld element. The method further includes contacting the second material with the heated weld element, and melting a portion of the weld element and a portion of the second material in contact with one another to form a weld. The weld element is designed with a head to trap the first material between the head and the second material, and a vent for receiving the at least partially melted first material as the weld element passes through.

摘要: The present invention deals generally with a low cost method of making protective films for use on cell phones, smart phones, tablets, and computer or television display panels that incorporate graphical elements. Specifically, the protective films of the present invention are constructed with text and images embedded in the adhesive layer ordinarily associated with these films such that the embedded text and images appear under ambient light and vanish when the underlying screen is illuminated to display an image. The embedded images may be monochromatic or multichromatic.

摘要: An antimicrobial method of treating wastewater and a wastewater antimicrobial dispenser containing an antimicrobial agent for treating a body of wastewater to kill microorganisms by increasing the concentration metal ions therein. The antimicrobial method includes the step of increasing the effectiveness of the biocidal component in the body of wastewater to thereby lessen the need for a supplemental biocide by adding a compound containing a hydantoin ring where the compound containing a hydantoin ring may or may not have any antimicrobial properties. The antimicrobial agent including a source of biocidal metal ions and a compound containing a hydantoin ring where the antimicrobial agent may be a powder, a liquid a solid or combinations thereof.

摘要: A mounting assembly and method of mounting an electrical unit to an automotive dashboard includes providing an electrical unit and operatively engaging the electrical unit to a cover, either an undercover of the instrument panel, or a cowl lining area. Alignment pins provided in the cover cooperate with openings in mounting tabs of the electrical unit for positioning the electrical unit while fastener screws are subsequently installed to secure the unit to the cover.

摘要: Materials with high levels of unsaponifiable matter, such as extracts from plants, result in Hydrolysates with unique properties. It has been found that the application of a hydrolysis process to materials, particularly materials with a high level of unsaponifiables (e.g., at least 6% by total weight of the material) produces a product with properties significantly different from those products resulting from the conventional saponification of materials with less than 6% by weight of unsaponifiables. The resulting Hydrolysates from the practice of the present invention are substantive, resisting both physical and aqueous-based removal from skin and hair, exhibit a very unique surfactant property, and are not foaming agents with water. Addition of extra alkali metal hydroxides to these Hydrolysates according to the present invention may thus be used to neutralized acidic gelling agents and thereby providing a gel with enhanced the performance for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
