Abstract:
A method is provided for fabricating an improved scan-conversion device formed as a combination of two separate cathode ray tube sections utilizing a common faceplate portion therebetween. The method of fabrication embodies peripherally sealing an envelope funnel to a first surface of the common faceplate, whereupon a cathodoluminescent screen is formed. Upon positioning and sealing an electron gun in the funnel portion of the first envelope, the envelope is evacuated, sealed and processed to provide a displayforming section. A target electrode is then formed on the outer surface of the common faceplate, and a second envelope funnel, having an electron gun positioned and sealed therein, is peripherally bonded thereto; whereupon the second envelope is evacuated, sealed and processed to provide a display-reading section oriented to directly cooperate with the display-forming section.
Abstract:
A PHOTOGRAPHIC PROCESS FOR FORMING LIGHT ATTENUATION MEANS ON AN OPTICAL COMPONENT POSITIONED IN AN OPTICAL SYSTEM USED FOR EXPOSING A COLOR CRT SCREEN, SAID COMPONENT BEING POSITIONED INTERMEDIATE A LIGHT SOURCE AND SAID SCREEN. THE DESIRED ATTENUATION CHARACTERISTICS ARE FORMED BY EXPOSING AND DEVELOPING A PHOTOGRAPHIC EMULSION COATED ON SAID COMPONENT, THE EXPOSURE BEING MADE USING RADIATION FROM THE SAME SOURCE WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY BE ATTENUATED BY THE RESULTANT METALLIC COATING ON THE OPTICAL COMPONENT.
Abstract:
A method of fabricating a multibeam single electron gun structure for an electron discharge device, such as a high resolution cathode ray tube, wherein a plurality of beams emanating from a common emission plane are separately modulated by a planar arrangement of separate control electrode members each having a beam aperture therein forming an aperture array. At least one accelerating-collimating electrode plane having a similar array of apertures is oriented in spaced and substantially parallel relationship with the control grid plane to provide a collimated array of beams directed to impinge the cathodoluminescent screen in a defined pattern array.
Abstract:
A coated light permeable refractive medium for use in an optical system to discretely attenuate radiant energy beamed from a controlled light source whereof an area of metallic coating is disposed on at least one surface of the medium by photosensitive deposition. The light attenuation characteristics of the refractive optical component are formed in the photosensitive coating by the irradiation pattern of the light source in the system.
Abstract:
The combination of a color television receiver and a display system for presenting slide transparencies, movies or other image mediums upon the color cathode ray tube of the television receiver. The slide or other medium is scanned by a flying spot cathode ray tube which, in conjunction with dichroic mirrors and suitable filters separates the information derived from the scan of the medium into its representative color components, translates the representative color components into processed electrical signals and couples the processed signals directly to appropriate electrodes of the color cathode ray tube. The flying spot cathode ray tube is provided with a fixed focus and has a screen comprised of an admixture of Y3A15012:Ce and Ca2A12SiO7:Ce phosphors in approximately the ratio of 3 to 1 by weight. Also disclosed as an alternate for Ca2A12SiO7:Ce is ZnS: Ag:Ni.
