    Abstract: A storage device includes a nonvolatile memory device, a random access memory that includes a first region and a second region, and a controller that is configured to use the first region of the random access memory as a journal memory for a journal indicating modification of data of the second region, expose a user region of the nonvolatile memory device to an external host device as a first access region of a block unit, and expose the second region of the random access memory to the external host device as both a second access region of the block unit and a third access region of a byte unit.

    Abstract: A storage device includes a non-volatile memory; a volatile memory; and a storage controller configured to: receive a new data and append data write command from a host, write new data and append data to at least one of the non-volatile memory and the volatile memory, receive, from the host, a remap command including mapping information between old data and the new data and a first identification (ID), based on the remap command, store in the volatile memory the mapping information between the old data and the new data and the first ID, receive, from the host, a metadata write command requesting writing meta data for the append data and including the first ID, and based on the metadata write command, update the mapping information between the old data and the new data, and write metadata related to the append data to the non-volatile memory.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a storage device which includes a nonvolatile memory device, and a controller configured to partition a storage space of the nonvolatile memory device into zones and access the storage space. Each zone corresponds to consecutive physical addresses of the nonvolatile memory device, and the controller is configured to map the consecutive physical addresses of each zone onto consecutive logical addresses. In response to a copy command being received from an external host device, the controller is configured to start a copy operation for copying data of a first zone of the zones to a second zone of the zones and send first read commands and first write commands to the nonvolatile memory device. In response to a suspend command, the controller is configured to suspend the copy operation, store progress status information about the copy operation, and send a suspend response to the external host device.
